Lighting Designers: Inclusivity
For some people, overhead lighting causes visual discomfort and presumably, visual discomfort hinders productivity.[i] (Some office workers use imaginative strategies (shifting furniture, wearing hats, using light filtering spectacles) to counter the impact of overhead lighting, and some assert that the lighting needs to be fixed.[ii]
I argue that we need to ask people in public spaces and schools. “Would you like me to turn the lights off?”
However, Nulty Lighting Designers have picked up the inclusivity baton. They acknowledge that “humans process visual information in different ways”.... We “need to consider those who are hypersensitive to light, glare, flicker and patterns”.
Nulty appears to be a "leader" in the field. Congratulations. Nulty Bespoke, Kathleen Seeman, Michelle Lansdowne MBA, Migraine Ireland, Maralee, Andra Munro
