Today is #InternationalJokeDay and we couldn’t miss sharing a joke from our very own Evan Wimpey. 😂 𝗤: How many data scientists does it take to screw in a light bulb? 𝗔: Just 1, but he needs thousands of already-screwed-in light bulbs for training. 😆 Keep the laughter going by sharing a joke below! 👇 Check out Evan’s book, “Predictable Jokes,” at predictablejokes.com, and be sure to catch his interviews with data leaders on our Mining Your Own Business podcast.

“Software is just the tool; it’s really how you apply that tool within the business that matters.” 💡 That’s some insight our CEO Gerhard Pilcher has gained over the years helping businesses hone their data strategies. Is your team exploring new software solutions as this year gets started? Here are four things Gerhard suggests you think about: 1️⃣ How does this new solution fit into our current processes? 2️⃣ What processes or systems need to be modified before the new solution is in place? 3️⃣ Is our system equipped to absorb the new information provided by the software? 4️⃣ Is my team equipped with the skills and training to make the most of the new solution? Gerhard shares more tips on our Mining Your Own Business podcast. Catch the episode on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, or our website (link in the comments). #DataDriven #PeopleCentered

Having the confidence to engage in independent thought, is just as important as the skills that enable independent thought.
Recently I was on a Podcast (out later this month) and was asked to summarise "critical thinking" and the single most important trait. While skills such as reasoning, assessing, and problem solving are important - not as important as having the confidence to think independently.
