I love the hype about HYDROGEN (the clean kind). I expect its growth & affordability curves will be like solar energy's during the last 10 years. But bigger and broader: for long-duration renewable energy storage (transportable when necessary), fuel for hard-to-decarb industries, micro-grids using large fuel cells, smaller fuel cells for on-site high-quality UPSs and emergency backup gen, and fuel blending for gas utilities. DOE's H2 Shot has awarded start-up funds for regional H2 hubs (gen + use, co-located). Exciting progress! As Marc Gurau of Chemours puts it, with H2 we're able to move away from harvesting our energy, to creating it.
