Growing good quality e-Learning starts at home. Show case what can be done at all opportunities, in department meetings, local education seminars and conferences. Many academics are still unclear about how to integrate e-learning into their courses in a structured manner. This is where TEL officers or champions can facilitate the process. It is important to lobby for a clear integration of e-Learning at the programme development stage, many institutions have this but it can be a tick-box exercise. Even if you have a small TEL development team ensure they are invited to faculty level education committees.

There’s a whole structure of passivity built into traditional education. Our vision of education is that we create subcultures where the norm becomes... ✅How do we learn on our own? ✅How do we support each other in learning on our own? ✅How do we create learning clubs so that we can be way more effective? Our hope is that in less than 20 years, we start to see millions of learning clubs spontaneously forming. So, we're building structures that make sure learning clubs can succeed on their own. Right now, we're working on a club structure that will help groups of middle and high school students tackle Harvard CS50. Eventually, we’ll be able to use the work we’re doing today to provide protocols so that groups of students anywhere can get together in a learning club and succeed on any of these online collage courses. At the moment, MOOC’s (massive open online courses) have a roughly 3% completion rate. We’d like to get that closer to 50%. If you’re interested in joining us on this journey, we’ve opened up our CS50 club to everyone.
