Dynamic Business Administration & Food Science Student | Leadership Enthusiast | Researcher & Innovator
Bridging the Gap: Fostering Sustainable Solutions at the Nexus of Business and Food Technology As someone deeply immersed in the worlds of both Business Administration and Food Science and Technology, I'm passionate about exploring the dynamic intersection where these two disciplines converge to drive innovation and create positive change. ๐ฑ๐ผ In today's fast-paced and interconnected global landscape, the need for sustainable solutions to address pressing challenges in food production, distribution, and consumption has never been more urgent. With my unique background spanning both business and food technology, I've gained invaluable insights into how we can bridge the gap between theory and practice, innovation and impact. At the heart of this convergence lies the opportunity to reimagine the future of food systems. By applying principles of business management, entrepreneurship, and innovation to the realm of food science and technology, we can unlock new pathways for growth, resilience, and sustainability. One area where this synergy is particularly evident is in the rise of food tech startups. From plant-based alternatives to precision agriculture solutions, these companies are disrupting traditional paradigms and reshaping the way we produce, distribute, and consume food. As future leaders in both business and food technology, we have a unique opportunity to catalyze this innovation and drive positive change. But fostering sustainable solutions at the nexus of business and food technology requires more than just technological prowess. It demands a holistic approach that considers the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of food systems. By leveraging our interdisciplinary expertise and collaborating across sectors, we can co-create innovative solutions that address the root causes of food insecurity, promote equitable access to nutritious food, and safeguard the planet for future generations. As we embark on this journey together, let's harness the power of collaboration, creativity, and commitment to build a more sustainable and resilient food future. With our combined expertise and passion, there's no limit to what we can achieve. ๐๐ #FoodTech #Sustainability #BusinessInnovation #Interdisciplinary #Entrepreneurship #FutureofFood #GlobalImpact #Collaboration #Leadership

๐ฑ The Recognizing Responsible Business series kicks off here on LinkedIn by showcasing one of the winners of the 2023 INSEAD Business Sustainability Awards. ย FUL Foods is a food tech startup that uses nutrient-dense microalgae to create sustainable products. It was founded by Julia Streuli MBA'19D, Sara Guaglio MBA'19D and Cristina Prat MBA'19D. https://fulfoods.com/ We caught up with Co-Founder and CEO Julia Streuli to discuss the future of food. FUL Foods recognised that consumers increasingly care about sustainability, but taste, price and convenience still drive consumer behaviour. New food solutions must meet these core consumer demands and be sustainable. FUL Foods puts sustainability at the centre of the strategies to make nutrition from microalgae. The company grows spirulina to produce a nutritious, delicious and affordable protein that can replace animal protein, opening a huge opportunity for positive climate impact in global food systems. Julia credits INSEAD for serving as an incubator for the venture from inception to investment. The FUL Foods team formed within the first few weeks of the foundersโ MBA journey. They were inspired by a summer research project backed by the Hoffmann Institute focused on INSEAD alums working on โinnovations that aligned profit and purposeโ. The idea was sparked by INSEAD coursework and the business plan was honed by winning theย INSEAD Venture Competition: https://lnkd.in/gW7_6QVm. The founders acknowledge INSEAD for helping nurture their curiosity in sustainable innovation into a business solution โ and for bringing together a team committed to sustainability solutions. Today, FUL Foods is commercializing a second ingredient extract from spirulina, a protein for dairy and meat alternatives. Julia says that putting sustainability at the core of their business model and mission means that pursuit of profit and purpose are aligned โ the more microalgae they sell, the more positive impact FUL Foods has on climate and human health. ๐๐ To learn more about the INSEAD Business Sustainability Awards and all our winners, please visit:ย https://lnkd.in/e4Hefxxn INSEAD Knowledge, Katy Scott, Nick Measures, INSEAD Alumni Association, Linda Zaiche-Huguet, Isabelle Finger, Karel Cool, Victoria (Vic) Woo, Ph.D.
