In 2022, only 21.3% of people with a disability were employed according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. We are actively working to increase that rate through our partnership with Nautical Manufacturing and Fulfillment. Earlier this year, we launched our first-ever Apprenticeship program that provided 21 adults with #DownSyndrome the opportunity to gain real-life employment experience. Check out the video that shares the experiences of those involved! Special thanks to the entire team at Nautical for seeing the value in providing job training and employment opportunities to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities! The self advocates that we're working with us from down to your innovations, they were really the goal was to integrate formally and fully into the work that we do every day. So line production was some of the things that they were tasked with. This includes, you know, deep packing, packing, kidding, assembly, all things related to light industrial work. From the job work experience is really important because they get to learn hands on. It's not just skills in a classroom, but they're able to work at a job and learn all of those transferable skills in the actual setting and in the job environment. Well I like about the aspects and the things that we do. It's a lot of hands on experience. So that probably probably like my favorite thing just because you want to you want to focus on new things so you could look back like Oh my God I did this like I feel so accomplished and. They're like, wow, this is so cool. Like, I actually went to a warehouse and I get to do stuff. But hey, I'd say it's really fun. I don't know. I just love this place. Makes me happy. He gives a well. I'm really, really glad. I'm good at good at doing this, but this job is really, really. A good place for me to work here, I think unique skills and perspectives that adults with diverse abilities have is that they're so motivated and they're willing to work and they show up on time. They follow the rules and do their job, and they just have so many skills and abilities. Like the rest of us, they have so much to offer and I think they really feel a need that we have right now, since everywhere is really short staffed and really needing people who are ready to work. And willing to work. This is a great stay at they can get. It helps me to get more jobs in the future. We had a I had a lot of great time. I really enjoyed the teamwork. And the fun atmosphere and the welcoming staff members. The apprenticeship program aligns with nauticals goals for the future directly. We really pride ourselves in in creating diverse workforce opportunities and workforce opportunities for people who may otherwise have been overlooked. Again, conventional wisdom I think, suggest sometimes that these things are too hard to do or they're too expensive. And the truth is the opposite. And quite often it's easier to set up and to create, but then the the outcomes of quite often far exceed what we see working with conventional.
