East West Bank believes in the power of art to spark conversation and foster understanding of diverse communities. As a longtime supporter of art institutions, emerging and established artists, and galleries from California to New York, we’re excited to kick off a new series spotlighting our gallery clients: #EWBgalleryofthemonth. Meet the namesakes of Lévy Gorvy DayanDominique Lévy, Brett Gorvy and Amalia Dayan. Overseeing physical galleries in New York, London and Hong Kong, the curatorial trio has collectively or individually showcased works by artists like Yves Klein and Günther Uecker, both of whom are currently on view at the London gallery; as well as Joan Mitchell, Francis Bacon, Andy Warhol, Ellsworth Kelly and Mark Rothko.  “For me, the most magical aspect of Lévy Gorvy Dayan is the nearly infinite number of ways the partners’ different expertise, insights and perspectives can complement and combine… I think the alchemy of our collaboration is palpable. It’s what makes our work exciting,” says Dayan.  Currently showing at Lévy Gorvy Dayan’s New York gallery:  • Los Angeles-born Joel Mesler’s “Kitchens are good rooms to cry in,” a major presentation comprised of new paintings, sculptures and installation across two floors of the gallery’s Beaux-Arts townhouse that examines the artist’s childhood through adulthood. Earlier this month, Mesler’s solo exhibition was joined by his playful installation “Pool Party” at the Rink at Rockefeller Center, complete with a patterned pool with the artist’s sculptural floats, inflatables and beach balls.  • Celebrated British painter Alison Watt’s “Breathing in,” a series of still lifes that tenderly imbue mundane objects with the magic of the artist’s hyper-realistic focus: a feather, a tablecloth, the backside of a canvas. “For me, the paintings are about an absent presence,” says Watt. “The still life is a portrait without likeness.”  The exhibitions are on view until Friday, July 26.  📷 (counterclockwise from top): 1.
