Juneteenth is a day that balances reflection and celebration. We sat down with Kimberly Ngiangia, Esq., MSW, Commercial Generalist Counsel at EarnIn, to talk about both sides of the holiday. What does Juneteenth mean to you? I was first introduced to Juneteenth during my college years in Berkeley/Oakland, California. For me, the day offers a chance to reflect on the sacrifices of our ancestors and the continual battles we face today to realize freedom. It's important to keep history and racial injustice at the forefront of our lives, which I think Juneteenth celebrations play an active role in. Is there a memorable Juneteenth moment that stands out to you?  “Fam Bam” in Oakland. I used to love sitting near Lake Merritt, listening to music, doing the electric slide, and celebrating the richness of black people and culture. Being around my community in such a positive and uplifting way, warmed my heart each year. What’s made EarnIn a unique or rewarding place to work for you? EarnIn is doing some amazing work to help people realize greater financial access and freedom. I’m proud of the work we’re doing and the people who are working alongside me. People are bright and driven, but most importantly people are focused on making a positive difference in the lives of our community members. Looking to join an inclusive team that’s impacting people’s daily lives? EarnIn is hiring and we’re looking for passionate, driven, and collaborative people who are ready to join us in leading the way: https://bit.ly/48iksmZ #Earnin #LifeAtEarnin #Juneteenth
