Sometimes your clients teach YOU something new. Today I learned that a Referral from your Primary Care Doctor to your Specialist has a space to indicate the speed needed for that referral. This line of information is either noted STANDARD or STAT. Standard would take up to 14 days and STAT would be a 72 hour turnaround. This is often overlooked. Now you know and now you can help people on plans that require a referral for service to a Specialist. Another thing you can do (if possible) is personally take the Referral TO THE SPECIALIST yourself. Ask your Doctor's office to make a copy (you will keep) This will ensure, without any doubts and human errors, that it went to the right place.

Why is there a 1 hour minimum? Billing for minimum hours is standard practice in our profession. It’s not a hoax, it’s reality. It is important to understand that our job is not only time in front of the client. Requires preparation and time-consuming travel. *In relation to preparation, each assignment requires special preparation before arriving at the moment of interpretation, whether medical, psychological, for talks or legal matters. This ensures smooth and accurate performance. *In relation to travel, if I have a reservation at 9:00 am and it is only 30 minutes of interpretation, then another place at 11:00 am, and so on, at the end of the day, even if I have only worked maybe1 hour and 30 minutes, the effort and total time invested is much greater. Therefore, the minimum billing of one hour helps us compensate for the time and effort spent in total. Here is the video of the drama, as an example

Think about the patient - and financial - opportunity cost of administrative burden on primary care physicians: If almost half of their time is spent on paperwork, and their time is valued at $200 - $250 / hour, and there are 2,000 hours in a typical work year, it means they are allocating up to $250,000 and untold numbers of clinical encounter opportunities to covering their butts and hoping they get paid. There's a better way. As a community, we need to empower doctors to understand the mindset of value-based management and not just budget-based or limited mindset management. If a physician doesn't understand how management and opportunity cost work, they aren't able to make informed decisions about how to best run the practice that supports their effort in the community... Let's arm our doctors and clinics with the right tools to do what they love in a way that makes sense for them, their businesses, the insurer and for us - their community. Then once you start making some income, it becomes a side job. Your side job can then help you with your bills. Following on from the recent poll “Would a post on application hints and tips be helpful?” I’ll now start sharing a number of application hints and tips designed for clinicians. These will be short and succinct, easy to read in-between patients or on your commute! Some you may do already and this helps reinforce best practice, others might be new to you. I hope they help. Today, TIP ONE ⭐Keep your CV up to date – even if you’re not actively looking for a new role I always recommend having a CV which you update regularly. Keep it saved somewhere accessible and add to it every time there is a significant change to your roles and or skills. Details such as additional courses and qualifications, being cited in a publication, speaking at an industry event are all worth noting. Have you been nominated for, or won an award? Finished a contract ahead of schedule? Worked with, and or supervised Therapists? Received internal/external referrals? Supported in implementing any changes within the practice? Job titles, practice names and dates are great, but those extra details will really help your CV stand out and, more importantly will be an accurate reflection of all of your hard work, achievements and expertise. A quick update every now and again for notable changes means that when the inevitable happens and a change is required (or desired) you can act quickly, with a document which is professional and detailed.

ISO of fellow clinicians who would like to create their ideal private practice. The purpose of this short-term networking group would be to provide clinicians an opportunity to network with fellow therapists who own or are looking to open their own private practice. Together we will learn, dream, and champion each other as we identify and begin to implement strategies in building an ideal private practice. The primary requirement is an abundance mindset as we dare to dream and cheer each other on to success, (however we individually define it). The commitment would include: 1. Meeting a total of eight 1 hour sessions, three of which would be in person at a coffee shop. The group will meet every other Wednesday from 7:00-8:00 p.m. beginning Wednesday, August 7th, ending on Wednesday, October 30th. 2. Reading the book and working through the exercises 3. A good faith attempt to attend 100% of the time (understanding that life doesn't always cooperate) 4. Accountability to yourself and the group. This is useful insight and you would certainly think financial advisers would be near top of the occupation list. We’ve seen very positive growth in the IP sales YOY and i’ve always found it fascinating that IP sales remain a small fraction of Term life sales, so I am pleased to see this continuing insight from IPTF to keep the spotlight on this valuable part of the protection market.

Developing small skill sets can lead to significant improvements in productivity and efficiency. One such fundamental skill is typing. Although often perceived as a basic ability, mastering typing can save substantial time and enhance overall performance. I have recently come to this realization and have started dedicating effort to improve my typing proficiency. By focusing on this skill, I aim to optimize my workflow and achieve greater efficiency in my daily tasks.#healthcaremanagers #healthcareprofessionals
