It was privilege of attending a thought-provoking virtual session on #Real-time #ContinuousGlucoseMonitoring (CGM) Use in Type 2 Diabetes. The discussion was incredibly insightful, providing valuable pearls for integrating CGM into clinical practice. Grateful for the opportunity to engage with experts in the field and gain a deeper understanding of this innovative approach to diabetes management. The #Criteria for recommending continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) are outlined in recent clinical guidelines and articles. The2021 #AmericanAssociationofClinicalEndocrinologyClinicalPractice Guideline recommends CGMs for all persons with diabetes treated with insulin and patients who are #Hospitalised having diabetes with history of Hypoglycaemia. Patients eligible for CGM are; 1)Treatment with insulin. 2)Inadequate glycemic control. 3)History of hypoglycemia. 4)Difficulty in achieving glycemic targets. 5)Frequent glucose monitoring requirements. 6)Hypoglycemia unawareness. The most important focus is to know the #Glycemicpattern of patients and to avoid #Hypoglycaemia cases as it was found that hypoglycaemia is one of the leading causes of mortality & morbidity.

In this Diabetes Care publication, we take a deep-dive into CGM data from two once-weekly icodec trials to answer pertinent clinical questions. Specifically, the hypoglycemia results are highly reassuring, given the context that the ONWARDS 2 and 4 trials included people with longstanding type 2 diabetes switching from basal alone or basal-bolus regimen ie those who would be deemed to be at high risk for hypoglycemia. What if I tell you one injection every six months for controlling your Blood pressure?? In a recent study, a single injection of the investigational antihypertensive agent, zilebesiran, effectively lowered blood pressure in adults with mild to moderate hypertension for up to 6 months. The KARDIA-1 trial demonstrated sustained reductions in serum angiotensinogen, with all zilebesiran regimens leading to significant decreases in ambulatory systolic blood pressure.
