Brian As I mentioned when I saw you at NADA...I am most grateful for all that I have learned from your education dedication. And I am all for the de-legacy-ing of retail auto. For me, the challenge is not the validity of the technology...it's the integration of that tech into existing dealer processes that may be perceived as "good enough" (currently) for that retail auto decision maker. I got into retail auto when you could get a dealer leader's attention by using the "if you could just sell/service one or a few more cars" close. Those days are long gone and they should be. I believe the effective retail auto leaders today look at the "disruption" factor a lot more than they did in the past. In most cases, when you integrate a new piece of technology success is going to require a change in the people who deliver the existing process...and thus adapting the culture to that "new way" as well. Plus, this is a business that lives/dies in a 30 day cycle of accountability and any disruption could affect that negatively. New products/processes take time to seed...sometimes, a lot of time. And as we all know, culture change is behavior change...the hardest change for leaders and their suppliers to navigate. Former leader of AutoNation MIKE JACKSON has said...the retail auto "culture" doesn't always seem "logical" to retail auto innovators and people outside the industry...night can be day, up can be down, etc. Just thinking... The automotive industry is currently facing unprecedented changes not seen in a century. Auto parts companies should adapt to global political and economic changes, and the demand for technological advancements, by planning for the transformation and upgrading of their enterprises. At the same time, auto parts companies should also implement a series of management changes to support their successful transformation. In recent years, new energy vehicles have seen rapid development globally, with especially swift progress in China. T car factory, representing new forces, advocates for the "3C" approach in automotive development, focusing on low cost and fast response, which has become one of the trends in the auto parts industry. The global auto parts supply system is expected to be reshaped. The demand for automotive intelligence is increasing. Due to the automotive market's requirements for high-tech applications, cars will increasingly lean towards intelligent applications such as car networking, front-end entertainment modules, and intelligent driving. These intelligent features will impose higher technical requirements on parts and components manufacturers. The lightweighting of parts and components is also on the rise. Due to ongoing concerns about environmental issues, the parts industry will focus on reducing car body weight through the modular application of new materials. Lightweight, clean, and environmentally friendly technology will become the future direction of industrial development. The industry chain's direction will diversify. The components industry chain will lengthen, starting from more subdivided first-class components and gradually focusing on body parts, doors, seats, audio systems, and other local areas. Lightweighting: A Key Component in Opel's Future Strategy Opel showcased its vision for future electric vehicles with an experimental concept car at this year's IAA Mobility in Munich. The crossover model displayed innovative approaches in aerodynamics, infotainment, and lightweighting. The study's highlights include aerodynamic features, a cabin with lightweight seats and lighting, and a new generation of head-up displays. Florian Huettl, CEO of Opel, stated, "The Opel concept car represents everything that Opel and its core brand pillars of 'Green Innovation', 'Detox', and 'Modern Germany' stand for. Being fully electric, it reduces CO2 emissions. Its design is bold and clear, focusing on the essence. The slender and smooth contours also represent efficient packaging. Advanced aerodynamic solutions contribute to this. Ventilation openings at the front and rear, as well as a retractable rear diffuser that adjusts according to driving conditions, enhance aerodynamic efficiency.
