A brand new experience & challenge... Last semester, I worked on the show ‘Mac Beth’ by Erica Schmidt for OU Drama’s Fall 2023 season. And no, not Shakespeare’s version. This show is an entirely brand-new take on the bloody classic we all know and love. The challenge: Develop a brand for a new take & a new audience for a story that is not what you think it is… The experience: Developing this brand ended up being a four-month process, but the results were so worth it. My design process has changed exponentially over the course of the past 3.5 years, and this show was one of my favorite processes, no doubt. As a result, Mac Beth, became another one of our sold-out shows for the season, selling out 4/6 performances.
