2025 will bring a more focused discussion on the Critical Medicines Act. We are fully involved in advocating for plasma-derived medicines to be regulated in a way that reflects their uniqueness. PDMPs are worlds apart from chemically-synthesised pharmaceuticals. Applying the exact requirements would fail to account for plasma-derived medicines' inherent differences and unique characteristics. We have outlined everything you need to know about the uniqueness of PDMPs here: https://lnkd.in/ebR4nhUY #EUNeedsMorePlasma.

High costs keep one in 20 Canadians from being able to take their medications as prescribed, according to new research from UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The findings highlight critical gaps in Canada’s healthcare system. In a nationally representative study of more than 223,000 Canadians ages 12 and older, researchers found that five per cent of respondents skipped doses, delayed refills or didn’t fill prescriptions at all due to out-of-pocket costs. The role we as pharmaceutical companies play, beyond the provision of vital treatments, is so important to improving the lives of those living with the conditions we treat. Whilst the provision of vital treatments is a core role there is so much more beyond this. When it comes to living with a rare condition, there can be additional challenges to overcome. Many people have limited access to specialists, challenges with diagnosis and limited or no access to appropriate treatments and support. Accomplishing the necessary shift in the treatment and care of those affected by the estimated 7000 rare conditions requires strong partnerships, a shared goal and passion. That is why working in partnership across the rare disease community is at our core. We know that developing a medicine is just one part of the jigsaw. Whether it’s about enhancing education, supporting empowered conversations, enabling access or raising more awareness of the rare conditions we treat – @ Sobi UK & RoI we work hard to partner with the community to support people living with rare conditions to live the life they want. #raredisease #ourcommongoal#partnership
We witness first-hand the challenges facing those affected by rare conditions. We also know that working in partnership is critical to making a positive difference to the lives of those affected. From researchers to patient groups. From patients to the loved ones of those affected. From industry colleagues to nurses and doctors. We are all working towards this common goal. That is why we stand with The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI)'s campaign, #OurCommonGoal. #liveslivedwell #rareconditions #lifesciences

Pharmaceutical companies are integral to protecting public health and enhancing well-being. Their importance stems from their commitment to pioneering research, innovation, and the creation of life-saving medicines. The Indian pharmaceutical sector stands as the third-largest globally in terms of production volume, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.43% over the past nine years. As per the Indian Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF), the industry is projected to reach a market value of $65 billion by 2024 and $130 billion by 2030. read more: thekarostartup.com #PharmaceuticalIndustry #PublicHealth #Innovation #LifeSavingMedicines #IndianPharma #Healthcare #GrowthAndDevelopment #IBEF #MarketTrends #PharmaSector

In September, CAPDM submitted its response to the PMPRB - Patented Medicine Prices Review Board on Shaping the Future: A Discussion Guide for PMPRB Phase 2 Consultations on New Guidelines, highlighting our concerns around new drug pricing guidelines. Today, Angelique Berg, President & CEO, participated in a virtual stakeholder meeting to further discuss our recommendations. While fair drug pricing is essential, lowering prices without considering the impact on the pharmaceutical distribution network could jeopardize access to vital medications—particularly in rural communities. Read our key concerns and recommendations here: https://lnkd.in/eU73szpw Together, we can protect both affordability and accessibility. Let’s build a sustainable future for pharmaceutical distribution in Canada! #CdnHealth #Pharmacy #SupplyChain #CdnPoli
