MUNI UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF ENGINEERING Today, we had a highly productive session with the Muni University team to discuss the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering at Muni University. Our focus was on reviewing the proposed curriculum for the faculty. It is crucial to recognize the dynamic nature of the field of engineering. The era of digitalization brings about remarkable advancements and hurdles that necessitate a proactive and forward-looking approach to education. Our goal is to craft a curriculum that not only adapts to these changes but also positions our students as pioneers in technological innovation. During the session, we were accompanied by Eng. Pariyo Lawrence from UNRA, along with numerous other engineers who contributed their insights online. We have expanded the curriculum to include some key areas, such as: 1. Design Thinking for Engineers 2. Artificial Intelligence for Engineers 3. Computer-Aided Design for Engineers 4. Innovation and Entrepreneurship 5. Soft Skills for Engineers 6. Integration of Emerging Technologies By incorporating these additional components, we aim to equip our students with the necessary knowledge and skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving engineering landscape. To create a relevant and impactful curriculum, we must foster strong partnerships with industry leaders. This connection will provide our students with practical experiences through internships, co-op programs, and industry-led projects. Such collaborations will also ensure that our teaching remains aligned with current industry standards and expectations. @Muni_University Joel Aita

Dr. Aita this is the right direction. I did, while I worked in West Nile, and still tell my brothers in the health field (from West Nile) that they ought to strive and take lead in spearheading such nobble strategies/innovations not only for their personal grow but for various reasons including regional growth tapping in the available and rich border connectivity, inspiring local growth especially in sciences et cetera!! We are glad you are such an early adaptor in this right direction.

Dear Dr. Aita, Thank you for sharing the curriculum update at Muni University. The additions are excellent. I suggest further enhancing our program with specialized postgraduate courses in structural engineering, such as: Advanced Project Management in Structural Engineering, Advanced Structures and Design, Experimental and Numerical Techniques in Structural Engineering, Forensic Engineering, Advanced Ground Investigation and Deep Excavations, Seismic Engineering. These courses would align our curriculum with global standards and equip our students with critical expertise to practice globally.
