These women are highly educated with a combined total of four bachelor’s degrees and five master’s degrees specializing in biomedical, biological, mechanical, and electrical engineering. They also bring over 100 years of combined experience in the field, working in product development, circuit design for the US Navy, software engineering, environmental consulting, and more! As amazing as they are in the field, they’re even better instructors. These women boast a 100% job placement rate for graduates across multiple years. Furthermore, their transfer students also earn higher scores at 4-year universities, with an 88% pass rate at Clemson University, a notably higher percentage than students who started there as freshman. -1st Semester: Laying the Foundation The first semester was all about laying the ground work. I put lots of emphasis into getting a grip of fundamental principles as they were to be the back bone of my academic journey. This prepared me well enough to enable me handle more challenging courses in subsequent semesters. -2nd Semester: Building Knowledge In the second semester, I added to my knowledge from term one. It was a time for me to consolidate and broaden my understanding in readiness for tougher assignments. My major objectives were high grades and better understanding of intricate calculations. -3rd Semester: Joining an Organization I chose to join a student organization voluntarily during the third semester so that I could gain leadership skills and learn teamwork. This experience was very important for me because it made me grow personally, changed my world view and gave me room for self-improvement. -4th Semester: Going Deeper with Organizational Participation Throughout the fourth semester, I continued being involved with this organization by advancing in higher ranks/positions. Therefore, it improved on my leadership competence and helped in building valuable networks for future use. -5th Semester: Enhancing My Technological Skills I utilized this period to diversify my technical competence. I registered for selective courses and participated in activities that suited my academic interests, where the main objective was to acquire knowledge relevant to professional duties. -6th Semester: Electrical Engineering Progress My sixth semester had been dedicated towards growth of my electrical engineering knowledge. I intended to become immersed in specialized lessons and research works aimed at testing the limits of what I know, as well as actively participating in the field. It was a desire to be prepared for my future career that made me commit myself fully toward this goal. -7th Semester: Practical Experience Acquisition During the seventh semester, it was anticipated that I would gain practical experience through internships or community service programs. This phase is designed to enhance my professional competencies and help me move from theory into practice. -8th Semester: Writing Thesis In my final semester, there was one primary item on m mind—my thesis. This final paper allowed me an opportunity to prove what I knew regarding some things during the course. Immersive consistent and intentional exposure is key!

Starting with Semester 1, I immersed myself in core subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and introductory Electrical Engineering. This foundational knowledge has been crucial as I progressed through the program, providing the essential base for understanding more complex topics. Semester 2 was dedicated to developing effective study habits and mastering time management. Balancing coursework with personal commitments required a disciplined approach, and the skills I honed during this period have been instrumental in managing the increasing demands of my studies. Efficient time management and clear goal-setting became key components of my academic strategy. In Semester 3 and 4, my focus shifted to hands-on laboratory work and joining research team Applying theoretical concepts in practical settings was both exciting and enlightening. The lab sessions allowed me to see firsthand how theoretical principles translate into real-world applications, deepening my understanding and sparking a greater interest in the practical aspects of Electrical Engineering. It also highlighted the value of collaboration. Joining study groups and engaging in discussions with peers helped me tackle complex topics and reinforced my learning. The exchange of ideas and problem-solving with fellow students was invaluable, demonstrating the importance of teamwork and collective effort in achieving academic success. By Semester 5, I began exploring various specializations within Electrical Engineering, such as power systems, electronics, and telecommunications. This exploration was crucial in identifying my areas of interest and aligning my academic focus with my career aspirations. Understanding different facets of the field helped me make informed decisions about my future direction. Semester 6 was marked by practical experience through projects and internships. Working on real-world problems allowed me to apply my knowledge in meaningful ways and build connections within the industry. These experiences provided valuable insights into the professional world and helped me develop skills that are essential for my future career. In Semester 7 and 8 I prepared for advanced coursework and tackled more complex subjects. Reviewing fundamental concepts and seeking help when needed were vital for succeeding in these challenging courses. This period reinforced the importance of perseverance, continuous learning, and adaptability. I will also be focusing on two major milestones: my thesis project and exploring internship opportunities. APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Invites Applications for MTech Programmes APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has invited applications for its MTech programmes for the 2024-25 academic year. The deadline for applying online is August 20. Founded in 2014, the university is launching its departments this year, which include the School of Electrical Sciences and Technology, the School of Communication Sciences and Technology, the School of Building Sciences and Technology, and the School of Mechanical Sciences and Technology. MTech programmes are offered in Vehicle Technology, Embedded Systems Technology, Infrastructure Engineering and Management, and Mechanical and Materials Technology. These MTech courses are distinguished by a curriculum focused on industry-academia collaboration, helping students materialise startup ambitions, project-based learning, and internships in esteemed labs and companies. Each course, approved by AICTE, will admit 18 candidates, with admission based on GATE scores. Those with high GATE scores are eligible for GATE scholarships according to AICTE norms. If there are not enough applicants with sufficient GATE score, admission will be through an entrance test or interview conducted by the university. One seat in each course is reserved for professionals working in Central/State Private Limited Companies, Public Limited Companies, or MSMEs.
