As an employer, do you know what motivates your team? 💭 I've been speaking to a lot of people looking for work recently, who are very clear on what they're looking for from their next role. One thing has been apparent- it's less about the job description, and more about how it aligns with their values and personal goals. What people are looking for from their management is different for everyone, but a strong company culture is the key to retaining your team. An environment that is open and honest, where employees can talk about what they need and what needs changing. Our work is so much more than coming in and getting the job done. It's where a lot of us spend the majority of our time, and we need that sense of value and personal touch to truly be immersed in what we do. I've linked below how here at Few&Far we go about listening to our team and help them meet their goals 👇🏻 How are you striving to build a collaborative place to work? 🤔 #employer #team #teambuilding #collaboration #opentowork #recruitment #hiring

Last week marked my final week with Few&Far after an amazing few years. So much has changed during my time there, on a personal level and in the recruitment industry. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to have been by my side. We’ve done trips to London and Texas, summers working from the rooftop of our Bournemouth office, and a lot of Wetherspoon lunches. I wanted to say thank you to every single colleague, client, and candidate I’ve had the absolute pleasure of working with. A lot of people say the best thing about your job is the people around you, and that couldn’t be truer for me. Wishing all the Few&Far team nothing but the best for the future as I’m excited to start a new journey coming soon. 🌻

The biggest step I took towards helping my wellbeing was going sober. Today, I'm 1.5 years alcohol-free and a completely different person for it. 🙏🏻 How do you protect your well-being? 🧘🏻♀️ This week marks World Wellbeing Week. So many elements play a part in our wellbeing across physical, mental, and emotional health. Work is a big one of them. We spend most of our time at work, so it's important to make sure you're looking after yourself where you can. 🌻 Make sure you're taking breaks. Get outside on your lunch break and enjoy the sunshine. 🌻 Work-Life Balance. Know your boundaries. If your life is being consumed by work, implement strategies to help you switch off. 🌻 Have someone to talk to. At work we have a buddy system. Once a month, we spend an hour with our buddies chatting about anything we need help with. Last week, Grace Whitelock and I went to the farm for our buddy time. 🐷 🌻 Nurture yourself outside of work. Fresh air, exercise, mindfulness, socialising, resting, and having a hobby are all things that can help. Give yourself time to do them. 🌻 Know what support you have. Employer benefits are becoming more focused on wellbeing, so utilise them! Few&Far give us a monthly health budget, free counselling sessions, and a Mental Health Toolkit that's accessible to everyone. Ask your employer about your benefits. These may all seem like really simple things, but it's so easy to let them slip. This is your Monday reminder to do something that makes you feel good this week. ☀️ #healthandwellness #sober #wellbeing #mentalhealth #workwellbeing #employerbenefits #health

Last year I posted that I was approaching 100 days alcohol free. 🥂 I didn't have any expectations of how that journey would continue, but I'm now at 450 days sober and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. April marks two key awareness months- Alcohol Awareness Month, and Autism Acceptance Month. For me, the two go hand-in-hand. 🤝 It's only now that I've taken a step back that I realise why I enjoyed drinking so much. Alcohol was a way for me to cope with having AuDHD. It was the only time I didn't feel overwhelmed. From the noises around me to being in social situations, drinking made those anxieties more bearable, so I never wanted to stop. If you're thinking about quitting or cutting down this month, this is my advice- think about why you're drinking. Are you drinking because you enjoy it, or are you using it as a coping mechanism? Because I promise you cannot address those other issues whilst you're still drinking. It's not been an easy journey to start unpicking those wider issues, but it's not something I could have done with alcohol involved. 🌻 #alcoholawarenessmonth #sober #alcoholfree #autismawarenessmonth #neurodiversity #autism #audhd

Some great insights into Design Interview processes and whiteboard exercises here. ↓🎨 #productdesign #design
Whiteboard Exercises in The Interview Process 👩🏼🏫✏️✍🏼 There's many ways to approach the live white-boarding exercise in an interview process but are you making sure it's tailored to your company's current needs, instead of copying & pasting someone else's..? Most of the market are advocates for the whiteboard style interview over a take home task and I can see why!😜 However, as a hiring manager are you making sure that you're tailoring your whiteboard exercise to identify the right skill-sets needed in your next hire? Here's a snippet of my conversation regarding this topic with James Ferguson, Steve 'Buzz' Pearce & orly golan ⚡️ Check out the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/eKTAypV5 #UXDesign #ProductDesign #Tech

March roundup for Few&Far's Team USA. 🇺🇸 Charlie Incledon-Webber, Ryan Hughes and myself have had a busy few weeks. Here's what we've been up to: ⚪️ Two fantastic Product Leadership Breakfasts. ⚪️ A Data Leaders' Roundtable. ⚪️ An Engineering Leadership Breakfast. ⚪️ A Rodeo. 🤠 ⚪️ Visiting a lot of coffee shops around Austin to catch up with our network. March was a great one, and it was so valuable to bring back more face-to-face interactions and networking. With April already in full swing, we're looking forward to planning more events coming up. Let me know if you want to get involved. 👋🏻 #events #leadership #data #product #engineering #networking #austin #austintech
