Mark and Lucy completed their biggest challenge so far this weekend - the Yorkshire three peaks! - as part of their training for Kilimanjaro in September. Mark's still nursing his blisters so please do donate to support their great effort for Kelly's Heroes: https://lnkd.in/e-_8j7Zd
If it was cycling there would be shouts of chapeau - but we were walking. Well a bit more than walking as 10 of the Kelly's Heroes climb Kilimanjaro team tackled our biggest challenge to day - the Yorkshire three peaks. We had an awesome day. The team is a fabulous group of people and there was a huge amount of encouragement and banter in equal measures. A massive shout out to new team member Gareth Green - who smashed the challenge yesterday despite only signing up for kili 4 weeks ago. He brought his son Floyd with him who was a huge asset to our walk yesterday. Our group split into the ‘fast’ ones - Barry Halpin Mark Towers Lucy Daniels and Rob Page - who smashed the time and all came in under 12 hours 👏 And the mountain goats Gareth Jones Ian Ward Nat Weaver Gareth Green Andy Ball and me. Andrew Charlesworth was excused as he did it the previous weekend for Harry's Pals. However, his insights were invaluable from the carpark to the placing of the burger van! With less than 2 months to go, this was a superb training weekend. Here’s the link. It’s to the main Just Giving page so you can choose who to back - or just donate to the group https://lnkd.in/eMb3gruP Thank you to everyone who has already donated to the PiGs AKA People in Glazing Society charity of the year challenge. #teamwork #yorkshirethreepeaks #kilimanjaro #charitychallenge
