The RearMotion offers a unique approach to rearing, combining efficiency, animal welfare and user friendliness. What sets this system apart is that the animals are already undergoing training while the doors are still closed. Pullets are able to move up and down in the system, before they have access to the house floor. This makes the system much easier to manage, in comparison to traditional aviary rearing systems. Greece is making big steps in trying to change the life of homeless companion animals, dogs and cats. Parts of the new national registry are already given to the public. The most detailed registry that Greece ever had, which includes all the information about companion animals. Register of each dog, register of breeders, digital booklet, are some of the parts that will help us to reach our goal, a country with less homeless animals. One of the most important decisions that will help our country to have full traceability of each animal and end abandonment, abuse and illegal trading of companion animals.

EU citizens want to safeguard animals against their keeping and killing only for fur production. Today the European Commission issued an official reply to the European citizens’ initiative (ECI) ’Fur Free Europe’, backed by more than 1.5 million citizens. As a first step the Commission requested EFSA to provide by March 2025 a scientific opinion on the welfare of animals farmed for fur, to take an informed decision. Based on the outcome, the EC will communicate by March 2026 its decision on banning the animal keeping and killing for fur production. Good info. Important to differentiate between a service and an emotional support animal. An emotional support animal hasn’t been trained to perform a specific task, but helps its owner by being in their presence. This brings separate considerations into play when accommodating. #WhatToAsk #ServiceAnimals #EmotionalSupport #ADA
