Are you intrigued by the career trajectory of an avionics technician in today's aviation landscape? 🛫 The aviation industry is soaring with opportunities, and for avionics technicians, the sky isn't the limit—it's the starting point. With technology advancing, the role of avionics technicians is becoming more crucial and diverse. Starting out, technicians often cut their teeth in maintenance hangars, gaining hands-on experience with aircraft electronics. It's a role that demands precision and a keen eye for detail. As you build your expertise, you might find yourself working for commercial airlines, defence contractors, or even space exploration ventures. But what's next after mastering the maintenance hangar? Specialisation. You could delve into navigation systems, communications, or even flight control systems. Each path offers its own set of challenges and rewards, and the demand for specialists is on the rise. For those with a vision for leadership, management roles are available. Lead a team, oversee operations, or step into quality assurance. These roles not only require technical know-how but also strong communication skills and a knack for problem-solving. And then there's the digital frontier. With the rise of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), avionics technicians with a flair for innovation can pivot into this exciting field, working on the cutting edge of technology. So, what's your next destination on this career journey? Share your thoughts or get in touch to explore the possibilities that await in the ever-evolving world of aviation. 🚁✈️ #AviationCareers #AvionicsTechnician #CareerPathways

https://lnkd.in/gvPGpi_F "Concorde flight engineer duties were all-consuming, and food would become an afterthought." The C-130s I first started flying on were also mostly equipped with Vietnam-era analog systems. System management and monitoring were thus not simple and a lot of flight performance numbers had to be manually calculated. So, while learning the ropes, co-pilot duties also seemed "all-consuming". In fact, the workload seemed far greater than that of the flight engineer, who was usually a more-senior operator meant to balance the experience levels on the crew deck. Over the years, the C-130s I fly have become more digital but our SOPs and culture still have some catching up to do. Part of it is that senior pilots worry that if junior pilots have it "too easy", they won't build up the "je ne sais quoi" elements of airmanship. So, co-pilots today are still burdened with a lot of manual processes. For instance, I was a keen advocate in adopting ipads as "electronic flight bags" to replace the reams of paper charts and airways documentation we used to fly with. This has cut down a lot of copilot busywork in maintaining these mini-libraries. However, for many reasons, we still have not gone paperless or maximized this inflight computing tool. Part of this is due to innate conservatism in a risky profession. So it's slow going but we're progressing. p.s. I also don't recall having much time to eat in-flight as a junior pilot although ironically for early-morning flights, junior pilots were usually tasked to buy breakfast for the crew.

Essential Guidelines for Drone Filming in the Netherlands and Belgium Understanding the specific regulations for drone filming in the Netherlands and Belgium is crucial for any production. Here’s a detailed guide on what filmmakers need to know: Pilots and Procedures In the Netherlands, amateur drone pilots must register both themselves and their drones within the NL or EU. For commercial film shoots, only professional pilots are permitted. These professionals must adhere to stringent rules, including having a procedural book certified by the Dutch Aviation Authority. This certification allows them to fly in restricted spaces and over urban areas, unlike amateurs. Maps and Restrictions The Dutch government provides an interactive map that outlines drone zones. Red zones indicate restricted airspace, while yellow zones have temporary restrictions, and green zones are more permissive for drone activities. It's vital to comply with these zones and secure the necessary permits to avoid penalties. Crew Requirements and Safety Additional crew, such as a certified radio operator, may be required for flights in restricted spaces or NOTAM zones. Operators must prioritize safety, adhering to weight, height, and sight-line restrictions, and ensure all equipment, including batteries and antennas, meets safety standards. Conclusion Whether filming in the Netherlands or Belgium, understanding and complying with drone regulations is essential. Proper preparation and adherence to local laws ensure a successful and legal drone operation. #DroneFilming #Netherlands #Belgium #FilmProduction #AviationSafety #DroneRegulations #ProfessionalPilots #FilmIndustry #DronePhotography #AerialFilming
