The Ronin 4D fourth-axis stabilization eliminates Walking Bounce. Normally, I just "shoot loose" then use AI stabilization in DaVinci's Studio (paid version) in post...it works pretty well if you use the right settings. I've tried mounting my gimbals on Glidecam's counter-balanced gimbal arms mounted to a vest, and it definitely helps. However, having the discipline to stay wide-angle while every bone in my body is telling me to zoom in and chase focus...NOT easy! After losing all my pro gear in a robbery -- while stored in Public Storage in Fountain Valley in between studios, post Covid...thanks Gavin Newsom -- I recently bought the Ronin RS4 Pro COMBO which includes a focus-pulling motor; however, I didn't get the LiDAR autofocus attachment...YET. The ability to touch a face on the monitor and have it track focus -- no matter where it moves on the screen -- automatically EVEN WITH A FULLY MANUAL LENS: Priceless. This is what DJI's LiDAR does. Stabilizing a hyperspectral measurement during a turbulent airborne flight with a cost-effective mean? Here is my solution that I attempted and it worked just fine while conducting my atmospheric reconnaissance for #RedEye-1. It is a DJI M600 Ronin gimbal sitting its horizontal shaft on a 3D-printed cubes and holding my RedEye-1 SWIR sensor inside a flight certified can! This means that a 25um wide slit line on the ground is stabilized to acquire a data cube image in a pushbroom fashion. A drawback of this gimbal is the battery as DJI does not produce them anymore and they tend to stop functioning if not put at a regular work! Another drawback is that it might not suit other instuments (size and weight wise).
