There's a HUGE gap between the social/emotional support parents think they're giving and what teens feel like they're getting. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention asked parents and teens a comparable question. Parents were more likely to say that their teenager always received the social and emotional support they needed (76.9%) than teens were (just 27.5%).
