As a recruiter, my weeks are filled with thrilling highs, like finding the perfect match for a role and extending an offer, and challenging lows, reminding me of the #resilience required in this profession. Last week marked a refreshing return to my job search and learning journey after a much-needed break. Little did I know that it would turn out to be one of the most rewarding weeks I've had in a while, thanks to two significant experiences that left a lasting impact: I had the privilege of attending a captivating career talk on LinkedIn titled "Elevate Your Interview Game: Essential Skills to Land the Job" featuring Andrew Seaman and Matt Abrahams. I'm grateful to both Andrew and Matt for sharing their invaluable expertise. The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including interview preparation strategies, techniques for managing interview nerves, and effective ways to engage with interviewers. What resonated with me the most was the realization that many of the insights shared were applicable not just to interviews, but to any professional conversation where confidence and clarity are key. Here are some key takeaways from the session: 1. Utilize structured formats like STAR, SAR, PAR, or ADD when responding to interview questions. The ADD format, which stands for Answer the question, Detailed example, Describe relevance, was a new technique I learned. 2. Engage the listener by incorporating their name into the conversation or by prompting them to visualize scenarios using phrases like "imagine" or "what if" when sharing anecdotes. 3. Embrace spontaneity and practice being spontaneous. 2. I had the privilege of participating in an incredible International Women's Day celebration organized by #ENW #WorldSkills. The experience of being surrounded by people in person transcended mere networking; it was an amalgamation of emotions, warmth, and so much more. The atmosphere was electric, especially on a Friday afternoon, and listening to the speakers share their journeys was truly inspiring. 💫 and yes, meeting my ENW cohort peers in person was such a lovely experience. 👭👭 #womensday2024
