Seeing a snippet of my recent post-match interview reminded me that securing the first win of the season (or week or day!) sets the tone for how we live and achieve future wins and accomplishments. If you're feeling in a rut, just do one thing that is a quick win to boost your mood and change your state: clear your desk, make your bed, do 10 push ups - anything that will tick a box. Accomplishing something feeds our brain and makes it hungrier for success. #motivation #sport #athlete #athletedevelopment #personaldevelopment #quickwins #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #discipline #performance

Do we consider too much the effort put in rather than the value it brings? If you want a read of me wrestling with this concept over the course of a (very) long run I've captured my brain-chatter below. I wonder how we can apply this to business. Equally the concept of undervaluing things we find easy but deliver the most benefit to others.

I hope this isn’t how some of your post ChannelCon meetings went. “I know you’re great, you know you’re great, but if the guy in the car doesn’t trust you. We’re never going to win a damn race.” 🐵🏈 This quote from Days of Thunder, is a perfect analogy for company culture. Owner - Provide the vision, foster trust Leadership - Provide the best field of play for your talent Sales - Be an elite driver, this is your passion Leadership your job is to get your team to trust you. That’s how you win races. Winning races helps you win championships. This approach will help you attract sponsors (clients), while building a thriving culture. #CompanyCulture #DaysOfThunder #Burnouts #ChannelCon #ChannelCon24 Burnouts

This is what we call decision making day. Do you stay with your plan or do you swing for the fence and completely change. You see, only 36 teams of the 182 sent out will make it to the Championship round, where two will become brand new BassCat owners… Read day 3 story here: https://ow.ly/Hj4S50R5kzC

I appreciate the correlation running has with business, in particular when it comes to consistency. Consistency is key with the goals many of us set this time of year! I did the Resolution 2024 Run again on New Year's Day, hosted by Atlanta Track Club. Decided on the virtual option and ran it locally. It was definitely cold and windy! That didn't stop me. Running helps me focus to meet my goals. Take one step at a time. #consistency #businessgoals #onestepatatime #focus

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧'𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐡: Angelica Bengtsson wanted to break a big record. But while she was trying, her pole broke! It was a big problem for her. Most pole vaulters would feel very worried. But Angelica didn't give up. She stayed strong and didn't let this problem stop her. She got up and decided to try again. 𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤: 𝐀 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐭: Even though her pole was broken and everyone was feeling tense, Angelica had one more chance. She didn't feel sad about what happened before. She showed how strong she was. She quickly found a new pole and got ready for her last try. She didn't hesitate. She wanted to break the record. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: 𝐀 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧: Angelica did something amazing. She didn't just fix the problem with her pole. With her last try, she didn't just break the record for Sweden. She showed that even when things are hard, you can still do great things. Her big win tells us that problems can't stop us if we keep going. It's like the saying, "Don't give up until the end." Angelica's amazing moment is a good reminder that problems are just small bumps on the road to winning. Write-up: Major Sushil Goel (Retd.) Video rights are reserved to respective owners
