Day one of the Knowledge Transfer Lab at Ûbersee Museum has started. Though I was not part of the NEO Collections project I'm very happy to be invited to share our work with storytelling as participatory practice at Västernorrlands museum. From the program: "In this 2-day lab, the Übersee-Museum will share its journey of building a sustainable, digitally-enabled global network of experts to contribute their knowledge. This community includes journalists, scientists, artists and community activists. This approach enabled the museum to develop innovative prototypes that combine meta-data and storytelling as well as create original artwork." The lab is facilitated by the brilliant Abhay Adhikari Dorothée King and Etta Grotrian https://lnkd.in/dgS9KEfm

Learnt something new today at the International Museum Day Symposium; the concept of Social Prescription. Essentially, it is a way of actively connecting people to activities, information and resources to address an unmet health and well-being need or risk. Thinking about it further, it does sound logical to visit the Science Centre or any other museum. Together with placemaking efforts, such venues can be quite therapeutic. Needs further study, to be sure. Interesting... #staycurious #lifelonglearning

A University of Sunderland researcher has helped create an exhibition to explore what ageing well means to the people in the city. The exhibition, in collaboration with Sunderland City Council and LG Designer Maker CIC, builds on the launch of the Council’s Ageing Well Ambassador Programme in 2019, and aims to ensure that residents who are ageing well in the Sunderland have their voices heard in their communities. Dr Sarah Lonbay, Professor of Social Sciences and Social Care at the University of Sunderland, said: "This research project was a great opportunity to bring together local residents, the Council, the University and a local CIC to work together on an important topic." https://lnkd.in/eKnMzYZJ

Your imagination is THE #1 most important thing you can share with the world. ❤️🌎 It was such a joy to do this interview for The Museum of Ideas. Quick question: How much time do you spend each day thinking about avoiding what you don't want the world to look like? And how much time do you spend imagining what you actually want? The answer might surprise you... especially if you're a systems thinker. Some hints that you are truly imagining: 1) You no longer talk about things as problems that need to be solved. 2) You see well-being and choice in everything. 3) You see the physical world around you as past tense and can see it through the lens of neutrality. Here's a tip to start imagining more: Set an alarm for every hour and focus on visualizing what you REALLY want. For me, I imagine planetary cooperation, connection, alignment with well-being, fun, play, joy and abundance. I focus on the feelings and allow thoughts, ideas and images to arise. Let yourself wonder and play without taking things so seriously. The directionality matters A LOT. Imagine the feeling first. Would love to hear what you are imagining in the comments below 👇 #innovation #regenerativeArchitecture #imagine #cooperation #naturebasedsolutions

Fantastic example of interdisciplinary experiential learning that promotes the value of thinking through making. Also good to note the importance of collaboration remembering our schools where built on the foundation of Arts & Science in the C19th. #experientiallearning #thinkingthroughpractice #holisticeducation #arts #science #creativity #Creativethinking #embodiedcognition

In a world of hyperconnectivity, a paradox emerges: the more we connect, the lonelier we feel. Amidst a constant stream of notifications, updates, and likes, we chase virtual validation, often finding ourselves isolated in a bubble of "techno-social" interactions that fail to replicate the depth of authentic human connection. This complex phenomenon has ignited my curiosity, prompting me to delve deeper into this exploration. I envision an exhibition titled #DISCONNECTED, a platform for creative voices to examine the multifaceted aspects of loneliness in the digital age. Apply for the open call 🔽 https://lnkd.in/es7tyJtT

Visiting the Neues museum at Berlin (must see place), I found the bust of Rudolf Virchow. Those of us who studied medicine know his triad that predisposes to thrombosis. But Virchow, in addition to being a doctor, was a pathologist, anthropologist, biologist, historian, writer, editor and politician. He has made great contributions in these fields, even obtaining historical treasures donated to Berlin and Germany. The Neues museum has part of his legacy. How could one man do so much? First of all, he must have had great intelligence, and an enormous dedication to his studies and passions. However, it is true that in past times the amount and complexity of knowledge was limited for each discipline. Indeed, knowledge in general doubled every 100 years at those times. In these times, it is considered that the doubling of the mass of knowledge occurs approximately once a year, and with AI it will possibly be shortened to 24 hours or less. Without taking away merit from the great thinkers and geniuses of antiquity, nowadays we cannot cover more than a small aspect of our disciplines if we want to be able to develop our work with the highest scientific quality. #knowledge #history

Excited to announce this Thursday 26 we will be opening our new exhibition Bridging Worlds, in Milan at the Gallery spazioSERRA. Everyone is invited to join the opening! Bridging Worlds Exhibition by XAARCHIVE Studio Curated by spazioSERRA Reflection by Alberto Delorenzini On display from 26/09/2024 to 26/10/2024 Opening Thursday 26/09/2024 at 19:00 Lancetti railway station, Milan XAARCHIVE’s response to spazioSERRA’s exhibition theme, suMISURA, is a rejection of the impulse to quantify, regulate, and measure, arguing that the path toward future innovation involves, to some extent, the ability to let go and create space for alternative forms of intelligence, different species, and the development of life in its multifaceted essence. In our human quest for a perfectly tailored daily life, we risk losing the spontaneity and unpredictability that make life truly interesting. Bridging Worlds invites the viewer to adopt a more fluid and adaptive approach to existence: by letting go of the need for control and measurement, we can open ourselves to a world rich with serendipity, complexity, and diversity. Through technology, humanity becomes a facilitator of the new future. Bridging Worlds presents the hope of a possible future and the boldness to remain optimistic in times of crisis: What if, instead of resisting change, we adapted to it? What if we started thinking about what tools we have to live in this world rather than being overwhelmed by it?
