At Dine Brands, #PrideMonth is more than celebrating LGBTQIA+ voices and culture - it’s about connection, authenticity, and supporting the fight for equality and acceptance. In honor of #PrideMonth, our DineOUT with Friends Team Member Resource Group leaders shared what Pride Month means to them on a personal level. Scroll through these photos to learn more about the importance of this month long celebration. To continue their tradition of philanthropy, DineOUT has set up a fundraiser for team members to donate and support the Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQIA+ youth. Learn more about the Trevor Project and donate here: https://lnkd.in/gM7EVzcU Our voices and actions have the power to create a more accepting and understanding place. 🌈 Despite being more likely to identify as LGBTQIA+, young people are less likely to be out at work. In 2020, only 24.5% of LGBTQIA+ individuals aged 18-24 were out to everyone they work with. We need your help to change this! Your tax-deductible donation supports Out For Australia's national mentoring programs, helping LGBTQIA+ young people thrive and be their authentic selves at work. 💖 Donate today and make a difference: https://lnkd.in/giCBXXGh * AWEI 2020 Practice Points: Key Findings, Pride in Diversity, ACON #SupportLGBTQIA #OutForAustralia #DonateNow

CEO of the highest-rated social impact platform on G2 - Groundswell | Executive Chairman at Team Rubicon
CSR Leaders: Does your company restrict donation matches to religious organizations? Why or why not? 👉 Did you know that 49% of the population gave to religious organizations in 2022? 👉 This category represented the most supported charitable category in the United States (29% of donations) 👉 What's the message you're sending your employees if you're excluding this category, which clearly represents the predominant charitable choice in the US? Of course, it's obvious why you have the restriction. Your company is uncomfortable being seen as endorsing any single religion. Makes sense. But have you ever considered that for many families, their church is not just where they worship, but it's also where they get the majority of their social services if they need them? Struggling to put food on the table? Your church will likely feed you. Struggling in your marriage? Your rabbi will likely serve as your counselor. Need someone to help with the kids during summers off from school? I'm sure there's a retreat they can attend. Plus, with corporate America's focus on inclusion - do you really arrive at an inclusive culture by leading with exclusion? There's a reason why we designed Groundswell the way we did. All donations on Groundswell are routed through individual donor-advised funds held by the employee. That means that all company matches are routed through these account, disassociating the company from their eventual charitable destination. Because we eliminated this affiliation, companies can expand the range of match-eligible organizations, leading to increased participation and sense of belonging among a large portion of your employee base. It’s #InternationalWomensDay, a day that’s celebrated globally to commemorate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. So at Pass It On, we’re putting the spotlight on women and the women in our communities who are #homeless. #Homelessness is dangerous for all, but women face unique, more challenging and harsher realities. Homeless women may experience gender-based violence and abuse at higher rates than homeless men. They may also face additional challenges related to reproductive health and childcare responsibilities. Additionally, the support given to women tend to be limited as homeless women are often missing from rough sleeping counts because they tend to be less visible than male rough sleepers due to the risk of violence on the streets, in a lot of cases preferring to seek shelter in cafes, transport hubs or other places rather than bedding down outside. So at Pass It On, we urge you to make a #donation this International Women’s Day. With your donations, our team is able to create curated care packages containing essential feminine products to be distributed to the women who are most in need 💕 #Donate now: https://lnkd.in/dxBrK3T #WomensDay #HomelessCharity #HomelessWomen #Charity #IWD #PassItOn

Sharing organisation success know-how with leaders of small charities 💪 | Creator of The Boiling Frog 🐸 and 'Tools for Charities' 💡 | PhD research student 📚
I look at some grant application forms around Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), and I wonder at times whether they are fit for purpose. Especially when it comes to user-led charities. User-led charities are special, often remarkable places. With a staff and volunteer workforce drawn from the same communities they serve, these organisations have long been pioneers in fostering inclusive environments. Diversity of thought often comes from a mixing of generations, and ideas are born out of a connection of all sorts of individuals affected in some way by the cause supported. However, it's important to recognise that user-led charities may only serve a small, tightly-knit community. In many cases it's a community of people living with disability, or disadvantage, or both. The number of individuals involved might only be in the dozens or hundreds, and they could be based in a location that inherently lacks population diversity. It seems unjust to impose a fixed set of funding criteria on them that may be virtually unattainable. This isn't intended to devalue EDI. Quite the contrary. It's simply a call for realism. To all funding bodies. We need a more nuanced approach to EDI that acknowledges the genuine inclusivity efforts already being made by user-led charities. Please don't burden them with checklists that don't fit their context. #UserLedCharities #EDIChallengeForSmallCharities #GrantApplications

📢📢We raise our voices to reduce inequality. ✨✨ Each and every month, GBPI Global Black Philanthropy Initiative philanthropy focuses on different Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as defined by the United Nations. 🌐 In February, we are focusing on SDG#10: Reduced Inequalities. This is a special appeal to nations to reduce income inequalities as well as inequalities based on age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, or economic or other status. As part of the goal, the inequalities among countries are also addressed and support is given for safe migration and mobility. As a result, we're making a special effort to raise funds for the nonprofit organizations and Black change-makers listed in our directory of over 130 organizations across the globe that align with SDG#10:Reduced Inequalities. 👍👍 Let us collaborate in unity to achieve the sustainable development goals. 👀👀 Now is the time and Support Black Charities is making sure that no one gets left behind, and we're counting on YOU to help! If you're a salaried employee getting a paid day off work for Juneteenth today (or any day this week), consider donating that money to an organization working toward racial equity. Most holidays are performative. Intentional action can make them more meaningful and impactful. If you're donating today, consider seeking out a smaller Black-led organization that might not be receiving as much funding or support as the larger orgs. Better yet, do some research to find out if there are any racial justice organizations in your local area, and direct your support there. Here are some of my favorite NW-based orgs that accept donations: - Jefferson County Anti-Racist Fund - Creative Justice NW - Lavender Rights Project - King County Equity Now - Africatown Community Land Trust For the sake of getting as many eyes on this post as possible, I'm not including any external links here. ⬇ SCROLL TO THE COMMENTS ⬇ to find a link to a Google Doc featuring details and donation links for the organizations listed above. P.S. While Juneteenth and the abolition of slavery are certainly things to celebrate, it's important to recognize that we don't live in a "post-racial" world. To learn about what happened *after* the formal abolition of slavery (i.e., how slavery as an institution was transmuted into the US prison system), check out Ava DuVernay's award-winning documentary 13th on Netflix. #juneteenth #racialjustice #DEI #racialequity #donate
