The low-slung, gray glass and steel behemoth near the Brussels airport will be the base for some 4,500 people, although none will live there. It’s an edifice with few frills, but can resist bomb or cyber-attacks, withstand power outages and even recycle rainwater. Given its proximity to the airport, the building has been kept at a low 34 meters (111 feet), but flight simulations show that the chances of a plane crash in the area are extremely low. #uk #usa #canada #france #italia #japan #germany #russia #ukraine #israel #españa #finland #sweden

These targets will have a significant impact on future investments and developments of Allied Armed Forces.  NATO and national military planning are now integrated like never before. In order to be successful, these plans will have to go hand in hand with: •   Much higher stocks of ammunition and spare parts, made possible by a steep increase of production capacity in our defence industries. Taiwan records approach of 27 Chinese PLA aircraft, six vessels in past day Aircraft, vessels and ground-based air defense systems were dispatched by the Taiwanese Army to monitor them HONG KONG, October 7/ The Taiwanese military registered the approach of 27 aircraft of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and six warships of the PLA Navy near the island in the past day, Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense said in a statement. According to the statement, 19 PLA aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and flew into the island’s air defense identification zone in the northern, central and southwestern airspace of Taiwan. Aircraft, vessels and ground-based air defense systems were dispatched by the Taiwanese Army to monitor them. Taiwan has been governed by its own administration since 1949, when the remnants of the Kuomintang forces led by Chiang Kai-shek (1887-1975) fled there after their defeat in the Chinese Civil War. Beijing considers Taiwan a province of the People’s Republic of China. #business #finance #financialservices

🇩🇪🚛👏 The German military has awarded Rheinmetall a 3.5-billion euro framework contract to deliver up to 6,500 military trucks. Rheinmetall’s largest-ever logistic vehicle contract from the Bundeswehr was signed after being approved by the German Parliament’s Budget Committee on June 24. “The framework-contract is an essential contribution to a fast fulfillment of demand by the logistic forces of the Bundeswehr,” chairman of the management of Rheinmetall Military Vehicles Michael Wittlinger said. “The standardized vehicle family and the uniformity with vehicles of other beneficiary nations establish the HX vehicles as the main logistic vehicles within NATO and set a standard for interoperability and logistic efficiency within the Alliance.” #military #army #defense #defence #defenseindustry #defenceindustry #defensetech #defencetech #militarytech #germany #bundeswehr #rheinmetall #trucks

Ministers of Defence Boris Pistorius from Germany, Yuriko Backes from Luxembourg, Kajsa Ollongren from the Netherlands and Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz from Poland will discuss about the support of Military Mobility at European Defence Agency High-Level Symposium on Military Mobility in Brussels on January 30th. The additive manufacturing is taken on an increasingly important role.
