At Endogena Therapeutics, Inc., we are revolutionizing treatment for retinal diseases! Check out our recent publication to learn how we used a single #smallmolecule to restore vision in a mouse model of retinal degeneration. #scientificresearch #regenerativemedicine #stemcells #drugdiscovery #clinicaltrials
Endogena is excited to share our latest publication in IJMS, titled "Small-Molecule-Directed Endogenous Regeneration of Visual Function in a Mammalian Retinal Degeneration Model". This groundbreaking study, done in collaboration with our University of Toronto partners, demonstrates the potential of a small molecule to stimulate endogenous regeneration in the eye to restore vision. This study represents a pivotal milestone in revolutionizing the treatment of vision impairment and reflects Endogena’s commitment to pioneering solutions for degenerative diseases and improving patient outcomes worldwide. https://lnkd.in/eGCeFC4J Do you need convincing on why retinal therapeutics is a good space to invest? 🔬Citation Break!📖 This citation investigates the relationship between Beta-Amyloid peptides and extracellular vesicles (EVs). The researchers wish to show how forms of Aβ might travel throughout the body, and how this process might be involved in the pathology of Alzheimer's Disease. Several rPeptide products were used for the authors’ experiments, SIMOA assays, and other analyses during their research: Beta-Amyloid (1-40) and (1-42) NaOH (A-1155 and A-1165) and sequence scrambled versions of each (A-1003 and A-1004). I hardly celebrate papers but this is special: have a look to our new work exploiting Membrane Sensing Peptides for Extracellular Vesicles direct analysis - just published in Advanced Science Wiley: https://lnkd.in/d8ZJCUHy Highlights: - we show that the integration of #MSP and Single Molecule Array (#SIMOA®) technology enables direct EV analysis in blood samples with no requested pre-isolation steps - we provide evidence that MSP act as general and pan-vesicular EV binders, not introducing biases due to the pre-enrichment of specific EV subpopulations - we show that MSP expand EV profiling beyond tetraspanin-responsive EV populations, enabling the analysis of EVs and EV mimics that lack the “canonical” expression of commonly used CD9/CD63/CD81 markers - we demonstrate the possibility for clinical translation in analysing an EV-associated markers signature in patients stratification (myocardial infarction vs stable angina) And much more… 😉 A great Team and collaborative effort – thanks to all involved ! I am pleased to announce that the research conducted during my tenure in Dr. Nikolaos G. Frangogiannis' lab has been published in the esteemed journal "Circulation Research". This accomplishment represents a significant contribution to the field, and I am honored to share it with the scientific community. Our study delves into the endogenous mechanisms that negatively regulate the TGF-β response, protecting the pressure-overloaded heart from progressive fibrosis and adverse remodeling. Specifically, we provide new insights into how the antifibrotic effects of Smad7 in the pressure-overloaded heart not only reduce collagen deposition but also suppress MMP2-mediated matrix denaturation. Additionally, we demonstrate the paracrine effects of Smad7 that inhibit macrophage activation through suppression of matricellular proteins. This achievement was made possible through the unwavering support and collaboration of my esteemed colleagues and mentor, Dr. Frangogiannis. You can access the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/eSRUhxjC I look forward to continuing to bridge the gap between academia and industry, contributing to advancements in biotech and precision medicine. Thank you all for your support! #Research #Biotech #PrecisionMedicine #ScientificBreakthroughs #CirculationResearch

"In our lab, we can modify this bacterium so that it can no longer make each piece of the capsule production machinery. Then we compare the capsule of our modified bacteria to the unmodified form of the bacteria. We believe that our findings will pave the way for drug development to dismantle the capsule production and attachment machinery, thus allowing our immune system to recognize and kill invading Klebsiella more easily." Saroj Khadka, a Ph.D. candidate in the Medical Microbiology and Immunology Track of our Biomedical Science Program, wrote a column in the Toledo Blade discussing his research on bacteria Klebsiella and its attempts to evade our immune system. Saroj is conducting his research in the laboratory of Dr. Laura Mike. Read the article: https://buff.ly/3ujTs7J #UToledoMed #research
