🚀 Exciting advancements in AI are poised to revolutionize regulatory affairs! 🧬 In 2023, GlobalData named Artificial Intelligence (AI) as the top technology set to disrupt the industry. However, while the potential is immense, recent testing with ChatGPT highlights significant challenges. Errors like 'hallucinating' research papers and inventing conclusions demonstrate the current limitations of large language models (LLMs) in providing accurate regulatory information. But fear not! Here are 4️⃣ ways AI is expected to transform regulatory affairs: 1️⃣ AI in Labelling: Helping professionals identify errors and ensure compliance with regulations on product labels. 2️⃣ AI in Regulatory Publishing: Streamlining the submission process by assisting with hyperlinking and bookmarking. 3️⃣ AI in Regulatory Submissions: Automating repetitive tasks and generating complete regulatory documents from templates or clinical trial data. 4️⃣ AI in Regulatory Information and Guidance: Introducing specialized tools like OrcaGPT, trained to provide up-to-date answers on a range of regulatory topics. Watch out for these AI technologies as they aim to accelerate processes and enhance research capabilities in regulatory affairs. While some tools are still in development, the potential impact is undeniable! Excited to see how AI continues to reshape the future of regulatory affairs? 🤖 AI Concept of the Day: Hallucination 🔹 Simply put: Hallucination is when AI makes up information that seems plausible but isn't true. 🔬 Tech speak: Hallucination in AI occurs when language models generate content unfaithful to their training data or context. It stems from the model's reliance on statistical patterns rather than true understanding. Causes include overfitting, lack of external knowledge grounding, improper handling of out-of-distribution inputs, and data biases. The model may prioritize coherence over factual accuracy. 💼 Real-world use case: A company developing an AI-powered medical assistant implements specific techniques to detect and mitigate hallucinations, ensuring that the system provides only verified medical information and clearly indicates when it's unsure, thus maintaining patient safety and trust. 🤔 Question: What strategies could be employed in your field to mitigate the risks of AI hallucinations? #AIConceptDaily #AIHallucination #AIReliability

🌐 Excited to share insights from the latest WHO Guidance on AI in Healthcare! 🤖💡 WHO releases AI ethics and governance guidance for large multi-modal models (LMMs) – a type of fast growing generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology with applications across health care. The guidance outlines over 40 recommendations for consideration by governments, technology companies, and health care providers to ensure the appropriate use of LMMs to promote and protect the health of populations. LMMs can accept one or more type of data inputs, such as text, videos, and images, and generate diverse outputs not limited to the type of data inputted. LMMs are unique in their mimicry of human communication and ability to carry out tasks they were not explicitly programmed to perform. LMMs have been adopted faster than any consumer application in history, with several platforms – such as ChatGPT, Bard and Bert – entering the public consciousness in 2023. https://lnkd.in/d9YQPzMP
