What You Didn’t Know About Augusta National Golf Club? (The US Masters, April 11-14, 2024) Cheapest tickets for each of the three practice rounds are going for just over $1,200 with individual day tournament passes starting between $2,000 and $2,500. The 4-Day pass gets you access to all four of the tournament rounds. Membership is strictly by invitation: there is no application process. In 2004, USA Today published a list of all the current members. Membership is believed to cost between $100,000 and $300,000 and annual dues were estimated in 2020 to be less than $30,000 per year. Masters tickets are considered the second-hardest to obtain in sports, trailing only the Super Bowl. Tickets — or badges — are cheap if you are lucky enough to be a patron or win the annual lottery which opened on June 1. If you don't get tickets directly from Augusta National, be prepared to spend thousands. Augusta National Golf Club is a private club and is only accessible to club members and their guests. The public may visit the course only during the Masters Tournament and only with the proper ticket or badge.

In the world of golf events (Pro-Ams specifically), how often is the term 'competitive advantage' talked about? The answer is, almost never. This is because what separates one event from another is primarily based on two factors. 1. Location/Golf Course 2. Structure and PGA/LPGA Tour Golfers in Attendance. Year after year, most Pro-Ams stay the same, changing very little about their experience which can affect their brand reputation, sponsorship retention, and overall experience of the event. The Deep Clean Club helps the hosts of tournaments implement a differentiation strategy. By offering something unique, distinct, and different than other Pro-Am events/competitors in the space, you increase your competitive advantage leading to more sponsorships, retention of the sponsorships, and ultimately becoming the pinnacle of Pro-Ams leading to further success of the tournament. 2024 is now among us. Make this year better than the last. Reach out to me at [email protected] to learn how we can improve the experience for your sponsors, clients, and golfers. #golfevents #pgatour #lpgatour #proamevents #golf #businessstrategy

Nick Dunlap was the first amateur to win a PGA event since 1991 But he’s not allowed to collect the $1.5 million prize The 20-year-old golfer had a historic victory this past weekend making him the first amateur to win an event since Phil Mickelson in 1991. But due to PGA rules, amateurs aren’t eligible to receive any prize money. In a world now filled with NIL deals, they have to come up with a new solution for this problem. A potential solution: an escrow program When amateur golfers win monetary prizes, the money could be placed in an escrow account instead of being paid directly to them. This account would hold the funds until the golfer turns pro. Obviously, there are many other legal and tax complications that come with this. But depriving young golfers of life-changing money isn’t a way to attract them to the sport. Some may say, “Well, he’ll make that money when he goes on the tour.” However, winning in golf is one of the hardest things to do, and missing out on the money may force amateurs to turn pro before they are ready. With the advancement in technology, advanced stats, and more, the game of golf has experienced a significant youth movement. Dunlap won’t be the last to do this, so a solution must be found sooner rather than later. #sportsbiz

In my spare time, I help out at my local grass roots rugby club, Old Redcliffians RFC. This year as well as helping with their events, I am also helping the club grow their partnerships and sponsorship with companies. If there is anyone out there who would like to have a conversation to help a local Bristolian rugby club flourish, please get in touch. I am specifically looking at helping the young players with their player sponsorship so that they can succeed and grow within the National 2 league of Rugby in England. However, we also have a variety of club sponsorship available to help the club thrive!! Get in touch if this is something you would be interested in. #sponsorship #localrugbyclub #businesses #grassrootsrugby #oldredcliffiansrfc #bristol #nationalleaguerugby

$389,000,000 Always nice to start a post with a big number! $389,000,000 represents the size of the total prize funds available on the PGA Tour for the 37 events that make up the 2023/24 season, excluding the season-ending Tour Championship. The PGA Tour's event structure has undergone subtle tweaks for this season, with eight events now designated as signature events with total prize funds of $20 million on the line. The Player's Championship commands the biggest purse of $25 million, $4 million ahead of the highest-paying major championship, the U.S. Open. So, where are the majors left in the financial war that has raged ever since LIV Golf came on the scene? Is the PGA Tour's desire to compete with LIV financially sustainable? What impact does the need for ever-greater riches have on title sponsors? Our latest article looks at all these relationships.
