Happy weekend! Been a second since I did a Saturday post, so here we go. Gaming + Health + AI convo evolution is well-described here. The tl;dr: 🧐 AI in Video Games for Research: AI-powered video games are being used by neuroscientists to explore human behavior and cognition, offering new insights into how we think and interact. 🧠 Sea Hero Quest: This game, which I’ve posted about before, was developed for Alzheimer's research way back in 2016 and has provided valuable data on how people navigate, highlighting the potential of video games in large-scale cognitive studies. 👾 Immersive AI Characters: AI-generated nonplayer characters (NPCs) with detailed backstories can engage in unscripted interactions, aiding researchers in studying social behaviors and relationships in a cost-effective and immersive manner. What do you think? How does this change your view on AI and gaming OR health and gaming? #gaming #research #health #ai #AIgaming https://lnkd.in/e4KqPuJF

I have just released the second chapter of AI in video games, from a historical perspective. Things start to become interesting in the period between 1980 and 2000, as 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐬, (𝐇𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥) 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 come into play. It's a period between 𝐀𝐈 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, so there was a lot of disappointment but AI always resists. Also, I cover two funny concepts - 𝘈𝘐 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘈𝘐. #Topics Voicemod will now let you create AI voices of your own [ad_1] Thanks to AI voice cloning, anyone can sound like Joe Rogan, Oprah, or even Darth Vader. But a newly launched set of features from Voicemod should make it easy for users to create and share their own bespoke AI voices from scratch. Users can now create and tweak unique synthetic voices with AI Voice Changer and then share them with other users on Community Voices. For those outside the world of gaming, Voicemod is an AI voice cloning program popular with streamers and gamers. Prior to this update, it had over 100 options for AI voices, including popular fantasy characters, celebrity actors, astronauts — and even the main characters in Rick and Morty. Users can now use Voicemod’s AI Voice Creator feature to create a unique synthetic voice, picking from a variety of genders, ages, and tones. On top of that, users can use the Voicelab functionality to fine-tune their synthetic voices — no Audacity needed — changing up the pitch, volume, frequency, as well as adding audio effects. According to Voicemod, this will result in an almost “unlimited” number of voices. Users can also share their DIY voices on Community Voices — as well as access other users’ voices. “Essentially, Voicemod has created a tool that ...

Ready Player One? 🕹️ Game AI refers to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques within video games to create intelligent and dynamic behaviors for non-player characters (NPCs) and to enhance the overall gaming experience. Unlike traditional AI, game AI focuses on simulating human-like decision-making processes and behaviors within the constraints of the game environment. Examples of how AI is used in games: 🧠 Creating ‘smart’ opponents 🖼️ Improving graphics 🎮 Enhancing personalized gaming In modern video games, AI algorithms are used to control NPCs, adjust game difficulty, and create immersive gaming experiences. These AI systems employ various techniques such as pathfinding algorithms, decision trees, and machine learning to adapt to player actions and provide challenging yet enjoyable gameplay. Furthermore, game AI plays a crucial role in generating realistic and engaging virtual worlds by simulating complex interactions between NPCs, environment elements, and players. This enhances immersion and enables developers to create more dynamic and unpredictable gaming experiences. As technology advances, game AI continues to evolve, incorporating advanced techniques such as neural networks and reinforcement learning to create more lifelike and responsive NPCs. 👥 By pushing the boundaries of AI research and innovation, game developers are constantly striving to deliver more immersive gaming experiences for players worldwide. #gameai #ai #datawordoftheday #SENENacademy
