STY House Highlight Reel #1 - 7/25/2024 Hi all! This is the start of a bi-monthly series where some quick and recent STY House highlights will be posted for you all to read. In these past few weeks, STY House has been active in a variety of sports and activities. Our lead man, Lewis Simon, got some golf in with a couple of Blackhawks players. Check out our Instagram in the next few days to see Frank Nazar rocking the red-on-white STY House hat. The STY House hat can also be seen on ex, now turned pro, University of North Dakota defenseman Logan Britt. Logan was seen rocking the STY House hat pre-practice. Sticking with hockey, our players were excited to have STY House coach and ex-Chicago Blackhawks player, Sheldon Brookbank, sign their jerseys. In other news, be on the lookout for our first ever STY House media day packed with athletes from youth to professional. Guests will be announced in the next week or so. Similarly, keep an eye out in the media day and throughout our socials for an upcoming summer drop and an extra special Concussion Legacy Foundation “concussion month” hat and shirt design. A high-impact alert from Prevent’s smart mouthguard triggered the first Head Impact Assessment (HIA) during the Scotland-France Six Nations match on Saturday. When North Carolina State tipped off in the ACC tournament three weeks ago, the Wolfpack had a 17-14 record and an infinitesimal chance of making the NCAA tournament. But they ripped off five wins in five days to steal an automatic berth to March Madness. Then they went on a wild run even by the standards of an event known for insanity. Now they’re easily the most improbable Final Four team of the past decade. What were the odds of the Wolfpack getting this far? To find out, you can take the win probabilities for each of the past four games from the college-basketball statistical website kenpom.com, then multiply those percentages to quantify the rough likelihood of a Final Four run. N.C. State was a 1-in-88 long shot. But even that number doesn’t accurately convey how unexpected this Final Four romp has been. That’s because the Wolfpack really had to survive and advance nine times. The chance of that happening wasn’t 1 in 88. It was more like 1 in 23,512. To put that .004% probability in context, the National Weather Service says you’re more likely to get struck by lightning during your lifetime.
