Impossible is fun! „You are doing what?! That’s impossible. And if you pull if off, people will never pay that money for it!“ With feedback like this on a business idea you either back off or you double down because you know, you're onto something great. When my partner Doc and I floated the idea of cutting iconic albums from master tapes sitting deep inside the labels’ vaults onto lacquer discs and create lavish bespoke packagings for each album, this is what we heard in a dozen different ways. It wasn’t more persuasive that the manufacturing was supposed to take place in a Venetian Palace style building in the heart of Vienna and employing hours and hours of finest (and expensive) craftsmanship. Cutting music into lacquers is nothing new, it’s actually a vital step in the production process of vinyls in which they sadly get destroyed. But the idea of officially selling lacquer discs to music lovers broke so many rules that you don’t even know where to start. We did it anyway and with the help of some passionate people inside and outside the music biz we created the MASTERCUT. The highest-end audiophile record. Come back for some more anecdotes and insights around a passion product that - according to experts - is actually impossible to do. #mastercut #vinyls #collectibles #analogmusic #superfans #originals

Here are the details of the four recordings of the blind test dedicated to Schumann’s Warum op. 12 No. 3. Track 1: Daniel Barenboim. CD Deutsche Gramophone “Encores”, (2022), recorded in 2017. Piano Barenboim, by Chris Maene https://lnkd.in/d7jvSC9B Track 2: Claudio Arrau. CD Decca (originally released in LP by Philips), recorded in 1973. Piano Steinway. https://lnkd.in/d4R_KGjd Track 3: Francesca Antonucci, student concert at Conservatorio Rovigo, live recording, 28/5/2024. Piano Boesendorfer VC 280. https://lnkd.in/dfsAjyWM Track 4: Murray Perahia, CD SONY (originally released in LP by CBS), recorded in 1972. Piano Steinway https://lnkd.in/dpV3UAVg Many of you probably already recognized Arrau’s famous recording, as well as Perahia’s early recording. Barenboim’s recent CD is lesser known, and also particularly interesting for the use of the Barenboim straight-strung piano. The “outsider” was the young Italian pianist (19 years old) Francesca Antonucci, a student of mine at the Conservatorio di Rovigo, who played this piece in a student concert last May 28. This experiment also intends to compare, without labels, young performers with great interpreters, also to stimulate the listeners’ curiosity and to encourage young performers in continuing their musical research and sharing their achievements. #blindtestresults #robertoprosseda

Musician Pegasus II: the Endgame Dac with a ridiculous price! I had now abandoned the idea of trying DACs with R2R technology because, although they were more natural in reproduction, they were not as dynamic as the delta sigma ones, which in some cases, with an excellent implementation of the output stage were superior, until having a too competitive price of around $1000 I didn't decide to try it. I would like to point out that the R2R DACs must always be kept on to keep the resistor scale stable (the resistors take about ten hours to stabilize) and the difference in reproduction from cold to hot is notable, and the more days that pass the more the difference improves. . I try to listen to the DAC every other day alternating it with another product so as not to get used to it and maintaining an unconditional opinion. I started in OS mode and shortly after switched to Nos mode which I think is more natural. For the price it is thought that it can compete with the Denafrips Ares II 12th but this one also surpasses the Pontus 2 12th, And I would say we are very, very close to the Venus at only $1000 😱 Compared to the Pontus 12th it sounds equally precise but more dynamic and natural because it has the same transient speed and production quality in nos mode unlike the pontus which achieves good precision in OS mode but loses a bit of naturalness. The low and ultra-low range is finally there (not like the Gustard R26 which was a bit lacking), but the most striking thing is the rich, dynamic and fluid presentation with spectacular voices and lots of air between the instruments: the strings are as real as ever. We shouldn't ask ourselves how this company manages to churn out such good products at shocking prices but we should ask ourselves why other companies charge us extra money. This is the best dac ever at the price ever. ABSOLUTE BEST BUY! #musicianpegasusdac #musicianpegasus #musician #musicianpegasusII #bestdac #bestdacunder2k

Effective communication is vital for large events. Our latest case study delves into how the XT185 two-way radios improved coordination and safety at Starlite Occident. The XT185 radios were instrumental in connecting various operational teams, thanks to their ease of use and advanced technology. These devices facilitated instant, clear communication across multiple channels, reducing response times and operational costs. The outcome? A more efficient, secure, and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Discover the full case study on: https://lnkd.in/dx4RjW6q

When listening to music, we are often conditioned by the name of the performer, by his fame, by the opinion we already have of him. We can certainly change our opinion about that particular artist, but always in relation to what we already think of him. I would therefore like to do a little experiment. I propose a series of "blind tests”, in which the same piano piece is played by different performers, without you knowing the name, the age, sex, or geographical origin of the pianists. Some recordings are very well known, as part of the official discography of famous performers. Others, however, are less known or completely unknown, taken from recent live recordings by still little-known pianists. No recordings of mine are included. In this first blind test I propose listening to four different interpretations of the Fantasiestücke op. 12 no. 3 by Robert Schumann, “Warum”, to which I recently dedicated a video. It is a short composition, apparently simple, but very rich and complex in poetic ideas and expressive nuances. It requires a particular musical sensitivity and control of polyphony and dynamics. On July 1st at 8pm I will reveal the identities of the four pianists and their recording sources. The four audio tracks are recorded on three different brands of pianos, which will be revealed together with the identities of the four pianists. Three tracks are taken from commercially available CDs, while one is a live recording. Naturally, this is not a "competition": for me all four recordings, although very different, are very beautiful and intense, and it would make no sense to want to draw up a "ranking" here. On the other side, each interpretation highlights different aspects of Schumann’s masterwork. I am curious about your opinions. You can participate by selecting your favorite interpretation. Feel free to write your comments about these interpretations and their comparison. I hope you will enjoy this experiment, and experience a music listening free from the conditioning or prejudices (positive or negative) linked to the name of the interpreter. #robertoprosseda #blindtestchallenge
