Today, Schlitterbahn was the first Six Flags/Cedar Fair Entertainment Company legacy park to put it's 2025 passes up for sale, and with it came an early glimpse at the add-on options to get all parks included in one pass, a major benefit/opportunity the company clearly plans to level as part of its growth strategy. Guests who purchase a Gold Pass or higher, will have the opportunity to buy into a paid upgrade adding all of the chain's parks for the 2025 season. The current price on Schlitterbahn's upgrade page is $75, in addition to the cost of the pass. Leveraging the perceived value of the additional parks, at a price point that is strong, but not exorbitant, seems like the right starting point as the team dials in what the actual demand is. 🏳 🚩 🏴 Our friends over at Six Flags continue to roll out an enhanced product post-merger with Cedar Fair. Ever wanted to go to 42 theme parks all for one price? Well, now you can (in 2025 at least). The company announced they will begin selling an add-on that grants you access to the legacy Cedar Parks AND you can tack on Six Flags parks to boot. We only have pricing for this 'add-on' from one park and it looks to be around $75 extra (not a bad deal). So what does this mean business-wise? Not much. While it is a nice headline and even got me to post about it, I'm betting this will not be a big revenue driver (happy to be proven wrong!). When the companies announced the merger they touted $40M a year in profit from an "enhanced pass program and optimized flash pass"...that is an optimistic target 😅 The challenge for any park with a shiny all-park pass is that guests just don't buy them. It's too much park. I mean, would you buy this? Maybe the $75 is enticing enough but the chance of you actually going to more than two or more parks a year is probably pretty low.
