WHERE IS YOUR NEXT WINE EXPERIENCE? Are you thinking about your next wine experience? At the bar or the table? With pairing or all about the wine? With extension in the vineyard or stay on the chalice? 🍷 And why not beyond that? A more or less famous destination is never just wine, beach, or peaks to conquer... Who has lived in this place before our arrival? In the last 50 years or over the previous 500? 🏹 And why here and not elsewhere? I often invite my guests to mind OUR business, i.e., to find out what they have invented over the centuries to survive or to discover the reasons why, in one part of the world, wine is produced in one way rather than another. Randomness? Rarely or only partially... A tourist may seek relaxation or exploration. 🏖 The critical thing about a destination is to offer both independent and complementary, but in any case rewarding, ways. #winetourism #winedestination #visititaly #foodandwinetourism #pdotourism #winesfromitaly #drinkitalians

Ever wondered why wine connoisseurs whisper the name "Wachau Valley" with reverence? Let's uncork the truth about this Austrian gem. Nestled along the Danube River, the Wachau Valley is not just another picturesque European locale; it's a viticultural legacy. Despite its acclaim, some still hold onto outdated notions that the region is inaccessible or exclusively for the elite oenophile. Let's clarify a few things. Firstly, the idea that Wachau's wines are only for the well-versed is as misleading as a corked Riesling. Yes, the wines here are exceptional, but they're crafted for everyone to appreciate. The vintners are passionate educators, eager to share their knowledge with visitors of all levels of wine expertise. Secondly, the perception that a trip to Wachau is complicated or requires intricate planning is far from reality. As a travel agent specializing in luxury small group travel and river cruises, I can attest to the seamless experience that awaits. A river cruise through the Wachau Valley offers an intimate, relaxed journey through rolling vineyards and medieval towns, with the convenience of unpacking just once. Lastly, let's address the myth that Wachau is solely about the wine. While the Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are undoubtedly stars, the region's cultural landscape is rich with monasteries, castles, and markets, offering a full-bodied experience beyond the vine. If you're looking to explore the Wachau Valley, whether it's on a river cruise or a small ship ocean cruise that docks nearby, the key is to embrace the journey with an open mind and palate. Ready to raise a glass to adventure? Share your thoughts or questions below, and let's start planning your next unforgettable sip and sail experience. #WachauValley #WineTravel #RiverCruises schedule a call

Terrific to have our CEO, Olivia Barrie representing the Mornington Peninsula at the Wine Communicators of Australia Inc 2024 Wine Growth Summit in Adelaide on Wednesday, alongside regional leaders - Barossa Australia's Ben Patten and McLaren Vale Grape, Wine & Tourism Association's CEO, Erin Leggat with wine tourism legend, Robin Shaw leading the topic. A few Destination Marketing take aways: - Know your customer, don't try to please everyone and remain true to the region's brand and value proposition. - Visitors choose just 2-3 wineries to visit in a day (used to be 5!), one being a lunch destination. You want to be on their list. Develop relevant, engaging and memorable experiences linked to a well presented brand. - Collaborate with like minded businesses for a powerful, saleable offer which encourages over night stays. - Regional tourism websites are a visitor's first port of call, make sure your presence and offer are current, prominent and high quality. #regionaltourism #wineindustryleaders #collaboration #strongertogether

Are you a connoisseur of gourmet adventures? Here's a selection of top vineyards to explore in 2024. 🍷 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘅, 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 The best time to visit Bordeaux is during the harvest season, which typically occurs from late September to early October. During this time, you can participate in grape picking. Spring and early summer are also great times to visit, offering pleasant weather and fewer crowds compared to the peak months. 𝗧𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘆, 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆 Tuscany is best visited in the late spring or early autumn when the weather is mild and the countryside is blooming in all the brightest colours. These seasons offer ideal conditions for exploring the vineyards and all the pretty little villages around. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵, 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗭𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 We recommend visiting Marlborough during the late summer to early autumn months, when the weather is warm and sunny, and the grape harvest is underway. This period is the absolute best for both outdoor activities and sampling the renowned Sauvignon Blanc wines. 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗼 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆, 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗹 Another option for your autumn getaway — Douro Valley, where you can tour the many famous historical wineries of Portugal. In case you’re more excited about hiking around the vineyards than tasting the wines, spring and early autumn are excellent times for that. Any more destinations on your list? Please share them with our expert air charter brokers at 👇 [email protected], and we’ll make sure you get them all crossed out by the end of the year. #Skyllence #PrivateJetHire #CharterBroker #CharterFlights #Aviation #whereintheworld

Beach or mountains? More and more people are opting for a third option: WINE TOURISM 🍷 Today, almost in a summer mood☀️, I’m sharing some figures and the profile of the wine tourist in Spain, revealed by the latest ACEVIN report on this topic. 🌍 Spain currently has the largest vineyard area on the planet and boasts 37 certified wine routes spread across the country. Since 2014, the annual number of visitors to the wineries and museums of Spain’s Wine Routes has not fallen below 2 million. According to the study, in 2022 the 3 routes with the highest number of visitors were: 🥇1. Marco de Jerez: 333,781 visitors. 🥈2. Ribera del Duero: 281,918 visitors. 🥉3. Rioja Alta: 213,974 visitors. Domestic tourism remains predominant at 80%, but international tourism has increased by 5% compared to the previous year, reaching 20%. Among these international visitors, the most successful Spanish wine routes are: 🍇 Gran Canaria: 66.5% 🍇 Alicante: 41.5% 🍇 Penedès: 38.5% In my weekly newsletter, I share content like this but in more detail, so you stay informed about everything that interests you 🙂 You can subscribe here: https://lnkd.in/dEzEeKqq What type of wine tourist are you or which ones do you receive at your winery? Wait, you thought California Wine Country was all about wine? You didn’t realise beer tourism was a thing? Well, think again, because every year Sonoma County’s Russian River Brewing Co produces a limited release triple IPA that you’ve probably never heard of, but it’s kind of a big deal. More than 25,000 craft beer fans from seven different countries (and forty North American states and territories) visited Sonoma County to get their hands on this year’s ‘Pliny The Younger’ 20th anniversary brew, and it was the most successful release yet - 🍻 The overall economic impact on the destination was $8.6million. 🍻 69% of visitor spending went towards food service and accommodation 🍻 Generated 261 direct hotel bookings and nearly $285k in local taxes This unique annual event always takes place over a 2wk period around the end of March/beginning of April and the dates for 2025 will be released soon.
