Back in the day, things were much clearer... I've been working in #ERP for almost 20 years 🤯 and for much of that time, there were pretty clear roles in finance teams. Controllers, #NetSuite admins, Directors of Finance, etc had clear and distinct roles. What I've been noticing lately in the industry is a lot of blurred lines. Many #Controllers, for example, are having to work as de facto NetSuite admins. This creates some significant issues - including complete overwhelm, and more serious problems for the company related to #risks and #compliance. Remember when a controller just controlled, and a NetSuite admin just… admin-ed? 😅 Any finance leaders here who can relate to this? How have the changing roles been impacting your work?

If you are using Exact, NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as your ERP, this is why other finance teams booked a demo with Tipalti: ● Too many tools in place, reducing financial control: 1 for expenses, 1 for invoice processing/approving and 1 for payments of global vendors ● Too much room for human error by manually putting supplier details into the ERP, putting invoices into the ERP or creating and uploading payment batches manually ● Finance is not able to scale with the growth of the company resulting in temporary solving this by constantly adding headcount ● Low job satisfaction for the finance team: they don't want to do manual redundant workload, they prefer to add value at FP&A and AR Hopefully you don't experience any of this, but if you recognise 1 of these challenges, let's find out how you can solve it! #finance #financialtransformation #controller #businesscontroller #financialcontroller #cfo #financemanager #accountspayable

🚨 This is your reminder to make sure your LinkedIn profile is up to date! Here are THREE quick things you can do to make your LinkedIn profile work for you and standout among the hundreds/thousands of others: - Include certifications (CPA, CMA, etc.) as part of your last name. For example, "Stephen Briggs, CPA" - Make sure that your title is relevant and searchable. If I'm looking for a Corporate Controller, I'm not using keyword searches for "Numbers Guru" or anything creative. - For each section of your work history, you should have a good description included of your job responsibilities, system you used (SAP, NetSuite, etc..), and type of company (public or private, size, etc..).

Helping Accounting & Finance Teams find top talent through specialized recruiting strategies | Expert Headhunter | Senior Recruiting Manager at Frederick Fox
Have you found yourself unexpectedly on the job market? Wondering how to market yourself? This was the position a close friend of my found himself in last week. He joined a Fortune 100 right out of college. 12 years and 5 promotions later he finds himself looking for a new role post layoff. The only time he ever wrote a resume was as a new grad Should his resume still be just 1 page? Is it okay to go to 2? Are you leaving out relevant information keeping it to 1? The hiring managers I work with typically are looking for: Industry experience. A CFO hiring for a growing PE backed SaaS company. They're looking for candidates coming out of SaaS companies or who worked with SaaS clients in public. They're interested when they see common SaaS metrics, ARR, MRR, churn, CAC, LTV or ASC 606 and IFRS 15. Is it clear on your resume what industry you’ve worked in? Title: If they're hiring for an Accounting Manager. They want an Accounting Manager who has managed a similar-sized team or a rising Sr who has managed direct reports and is ready for the next step. Is it easy to tell what your role was and scope of work was? Technology/Tools: If they’re using NetSuite they prefer candidates with Netsuite. Is it easy to know what tools you have used? Track record of high performance: promotions and awards show a track record of success and that you will perform well on their team. Is it clear that you are an A player? At the end of the day your resume is a piece of marketing. It’s job is to get you the interview. If you're not getting interviews with a 1 pager maybe it’s time to beef it up to 2 pages.

***To CFOs, finance managers, accountants and FP&A specialists in my network and beyond*** Are you struggling to get the clarity, confidence, and insights you need and expect from your Cloud ERP data? I’m working with an innovative software company who has addressed the widely-recognised challenges of accessing and reporting on finance data when working across the cloud. An investor is willing to fund the company’s next stage of growth on completion of a set of successful proof of concepts. I’m looking for 3 companies willing to participate in a 3 - 4 week POC. The software has a small footprint, it's quick to install and your data always remains secure within your pre-existing MS Office tenancy. Benefits include speed, access and insights you wouldn’t have believed possible from a reporting platform already proven to be the system of choice for CFOs, finance managers, accountants and FP&A specialists alike. Please get in touch with me for a confidential exploratory chat if you, or someone you know would like to participate in this exciting project. Thx Kav #financialreporting #ERP #clouddata
