A snippet of the collaborative A.I. opera piece, "Song of the Ambassadors" (SoTA), that I composed at the opening ceremony for TED Conferences last year with text by K Allado-McDowell and multimedia by Refik Anadol. This piece explores our ever-changing relationship with A.I., merging traditional art and artificial intelligence. A pretty unique experience! #INSTANTTURNOFF: Audience Amnesia I remember being at a conference in Budapest where the Conference Chair welcomed us all to Bucharest. Instant Turn off for the audience. There was another Gala evening at Lyon Opera where the well-known TV personality opening proceedings told us how lucky we were to be in this magnificent Parisian Opera House. (She was booed : Lyonnais HATE being compared to Parisians). Some speakers seem to have selective amnesia, when it comes to remembering the audience. It is no good talking about gangsta rap if your audience is mostly made up of Boomers. No good talking about dialling a phone number with a round finger gesture if your audience is GEN Z. Consider who your audience actually are before you take the stage : remember the importance of involving them, asking pertinent questions, and making them feel like active participants rather than passive observers. And especially .. get the names right ! When this little devil was at school in England, my unusual surname was so often mispronounced …that I had to come to live in France for it to be pronounced correctly ! If you are naming people … please ask them beforehand how their name is pronounced, or you will turn them off for life ! #publicspeakingtips #communication #conferences #leadership

This remix brings a fresh perspective to a beloved classic, showcasing the timeless beauty of both genres. For my fellow professionals: How do you incorporate classic elements into your modern projects to create something unique/impactful?

Sales Training, Mentoring, & Leadership | Sales Centre of Excellence | Empowering Sales Teams to Deliver Differentiating Value
Have you ever experienced a Chinese opera? Recently, Sarah and I stumbled upon an ancient Wind God festival at Tainan, Taiwan. It was Sarah’s first time attending, and we decided to immerse ourselves in this unique celebration. Chinese operas are captivating performances that blend dance, song, and martial arts. They often narrate popular stories, drawing the audience into a world of tradition and artistry. Interestingly, storytelling plays a crucial role in sales as well. When presenting solutions to clients, how you convey your message matters. Crafting a narrative that resonates with their struggles and demonstrates how your solutions can address their needs builds trust and understanding.

Your pitch isn't about you. It's about what you can solve for your prospect. How do you make your pitch client facing? Please share in the comments.
This is a 43-second elevator pitch example. Does your elevator pitch sound like an opera singer? Me-me-me-me-me. That's the wrong emphasis. It's about your prospect, not you. It can be client facing when you take the pain points of your ideal prospect and use them with emotional trigger words to get the attention of your listeners. The pattern is: give a compliment, share a pain point, then the impact if that challenge isn't resolved. Always end your "short message" (aka "elevator pitch") by asking a question that gets the listener to respond. #elevatorpitch #salestips #salesconsulting #jimkerlinconsulting

#Finland fosters trust by being transparent, and that is why research is readily accessible to the public. There are open ‘Sampo’ portals for sharing data on a range of topics – from opera to analysing legislation! One of these portals is built on millions of speeches from the #Finnish parliament. It tells us interesting facts about the parliament, like who has held the most speeches and which topics were trending at a specific time in history. #TransformingTech https://lnkd.in/eu9nArFE

ASK A CIM STUDENT | What is a benefit of being a CIM student that people might not know about? Colin DeMatteo (Kuznetsova) has the answer: "One of the greatest parts of going to CIM that I’ve found is the process of getting to watch and work with my extremely talented peers. So much of what I try to implement into my own performances are things I saw one of my peers do, whether it be in studio class or opera rehearsals. I am constantly amazed and inspired by them, and it motivates me to do my very best." Read his full answer at cim.edu/askaCIMstudent. #SeeCIM #AskaCIMStudent #Voice

Imagine the human body as a grand Opera, each system and organ a musician playing a crucial role. Within this symphony, data emerges as the silent conductor, harmonizing diverse elements to create a masterpiece of excellence. Every beat, every neuron, every process is orchestrated by data’s silent power. Organizations must embrace data as their conductor, guiding strategic decisions, operational efficiency, and every note contributing to the grand composition of success. #the_mastery_within

Can you really shatter glass with just your voice? 🎶 Using Altair’s OptiStruct, we simulated whether a trained opera singer, hitting notes up to 100 dB and within a range of 250-1,500 Hz, could break a crystal wine glass at its resonant frequency. Find out if sound alone is powerful enough: https://bit.ly/3XQCZDS #Simulation #OnlyForward
