Tinea versicolor is a benign cutaneous fungal infection that is more common in humid and warm climates, specially during summer. Several factors predispose patients to this condition, including: immunosuppression, malnutrition and application of oily preprations. Patients refer with scaly hypo or hyperpigmented macules and patches, most commonly on their chest or back. Usually lesions are asymptomatic but rarly they can cause pruritus. Pathogen of this disease is one species among the opportunistic normal flora of skin named Mallasesia, therfore lesions are not contagious. Diagnosis is based on clinical observations but in case of further suspicions, wood lamp and KOH test can confrirm Tinea versicolor disease. Paronychia is an infection of the proximal and lateral fingernails and toenails. it's among the most common hand infections and female to male incidence ratio is 3:1. Acute paronychia lasts less than six weeks and usually caused by bacterial infection (most commonly staphylococcus aureus). Chronic form lasts more than six weeks and most frequently caused by mechanical or chemical factors and sometimes fungal infections. Patients usually refer with pain, swelling and erythem of their proximal or lateral fingernails.sometimes abscess are seen in physical examination. Diagnosis is based on clinical evaluation and detailed history of occupational risk factors. Treatment include warm soak for 10 to 15 minutes several times a day and oral or topical antibiotic therapy.
