More and more agencies, both media- and creative agencies are moving their adops- and production teams abroad to countries to cut costs. Acne did this a few years ago setting up a production team in India, UM as well but in Riga. The latest one doing this is Publicis who will do an offshore solution for their adops team moving their hands-on knowledge in martech platforms from Sweden. This might look good short-term, since the costs will be lower. BUT, this is with no doubt always equivalent to a lower ability to deliver value added solutions and workflows to their clients using adtech/martech as a support. So for agencies that understand the value of having hands-on and local knowledge in martech/adtech and production, this is a great opportunity. Last week Vivendi released its 2023 fiscal results, which showed that Havas performed well, growing net organic revenue by 4.4% compared to growth in 2022. Here's how the hold cos stack up by net organic revenue growth in 2023: Publicis: 6.3% Havas: 4.4% WPP: 0.9% IPG: -0.1% S4: -4% Dentsu: -4.9% Stagwell: -5.9% In second place, Havas is doing well—especially in international markets. Numbers aside, everyone's been wondering what's going on with Vivendi's potential Havas spin off. Vivendi confirmed last year that its leaders are thinking about taking Havas public... And most industry experts agree it is undervalued as a Vivendi subsidiary. There've also been rumors circulating that the ad group could be an acquisition target by other hold cos and consultancies. Such an acquisition would dramatically impact the industry if carried out. Last week I spoke with Havas CEO Yannick Bolloré about earnings. He dispelled the rumor that Havas is for sale, telling me that discussions about listing Havas publicly are ongoing. “If we wanted to sell Havas, it would be easier to sell it right now while it’s private than when it’s public,” Bolloré told me.
