Our Resource and Environmental Regulation Deputy Director General Andrew Chaplyn was recently at the Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) 2024 Conference in Norway as part of a WA delegation. “This was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our global relationships and engage with stakeholders around our own priority areas, including carbon capture utilisation and storage, decommissioning, decarbonisation and emerging technologies,” Andrew said. “I found it valuable to see many other countries on the same path as us and how we can benefit from collaboration and sharing our different experiences.” Thank you to CODA - Centre of Decommissioning Australia for hosting the WA booth at the conference and for arranging several site visits, allowing the delegation to see the maturity of Norway’s industries in these areas. Andrew joined other WA representatives from Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation and the Invest and Trade Western Australia UK office.

#Certification process - To obtain Green Marine Europe certification, participants must complete all the requirements of the rigorous and transparent certification process. Focus on one of these stages - the external verification - with CorsicaLinea. ✅Every participant must submit its results to an external verifier accredited by Green Marine Europe. The verification process is carried out in person on the company’s premises and it’s based on objective evidence provided by the participant to justify their self-evaluation. ✅Our Outreach Officer, Romain BENOIT, took part in this verification day on 6 May as an observer with the CorsicaLinea teams Chloé Taverni #Sustainable #Development #Manager. At the end of the day, Chloé, Romain, and our verifier, Nicolas CARION, were welcome by Captain Thomas QUENNEPOIX and Chief Benoît Ryckeboer on board their new vessel “A GALEOTTA”. 💬Romain BENOIT : "During the verification shadow, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁. We ensure the accredited verifier is carried out its verification as per our Policy, it demonstrates to the participants the involvement of the Green Marine Europe team and enables us to identify areas for improvement in the verification process in direct contact with participants and verifiers. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻." 💬Chloé Taverni: "CorsicaLinea has been 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 Green Marine Europe since 2019. We saw our involvement as a natural extension of our #commitment to a dynamic #energy #transition. The external verification is a privileged time for exchange with the Green Marine Europe teams, which is particularly useful as part of our continuous improvement in environmental matters." 💡Find out more about CorsicaLinea's environmental commitment 👉 https://vu.fr/SJDxu

Norway is teeming with green shipping companies, ambitions and projects. Why is it so? André Risholm, Founder and CEO of Amon Maritime, mentions a number of points to ShippingWatch about why Norway is a good breeding ground for a company like theirs. ”One of the reasons is that Norway has a strong maritime cluster with partners that are available locally,” the CEO explains. Harald Solberg CEO at Norwegian Shipowners' Association (Norges Rederiforbund) and Kristoffer A. Rolland from Norsk Industri both point to the complete maritime cluster. All three have ideas on how Norway can remain an incubator for technology development. #shipping #freight #oceanfreight #energytransition #sustainability #technology #innovation #funding

Solid governance and a healthy mix of pollution charges, mandates and subsidies: no surprise Norway is leading the way on shipping innovation. The European Commission needs to take note: as the article argues, don't shy away from regulation to create demand. Norway kicked off its impressive decarbonisation pathway with its NOx Fund and is pushing ahead with its zero-emission fjord mandates. Careful, targeted use of public subsidies is the last piece of the puzzle and a clear area where the EU's Innovation Fund can learn from Norway's Enova. https://lnkd.in/gJftV-iJ ShippingWatch Miljøstiftelsen ZERO Transport & Environment (T&E)

Our Chairman of the Board, Fernando C. Hernandez, had a dynamic low-carbon discussion with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Consul General, via Mette Tangen. This occurred after Innovation Norway and Brazil's Empresa de Pesquisa Energética signed an MoU to strengthen transatlantic cooperation, which Mette participated in. Full circle: the day before the MoU’s signing, Raquel Filgueiras at Innovation Norway and Fernando discussed in a panel session, how Brazil is providing manufacturing support for Equinor’s Northern Lights Project. • Link to said panel session: https://lnkd.in/g2m2aNv8 It is clear that #Brazil continues to go from strength to strength! #Global #LowCarbon #Collaboration
