The European Hypersonic Defence Programme (HYDEF), following the kick-off in November 2023, has celebrated its second Core Stakeholder Workshop (CSW2) in February, marking a significant milestone in the development of a hypersonic air defense system. With a focus on consolidating specific customer requirements, the workshops led by the European HYDEF consortium aim to ensure the conceptual design of an effective air defence system that meets the needs of Europe, NATO partners, and their populations. As part of this initiative, GMV is responsible for Boost and Mid-Course (BMC) navigation, simulation environment development, and defining the concept of operations (CONOPS) for space situational awareness and early warning. #HYDEF #EuropeanDefense #Project

Success for #ACCS during the NATO Exercise Poggio Dart 23 Two ACCS systems (A Combined Air Operations Center CARS and a Deployable Control Reporting Center DARS) were used to conduct the whole PODA23 exercise from computer assisted exercise to live planning/tasking to the execution of live operations. The DARS was interfaced with radars and over Tactical Data Links (L16 and JRE) exchanging real time information with CAOCs and Fighters and getting backlink information from these flying assets. This exercise gathered around 30 Allied aircraft (F-35, F-16…) with an average of 35 live flights per day. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e_zsNm-m

https://lnkd.in/ed-MUwD4 I always thought that the stockpiling of arms could occur for various reasons, and it doesn't necessarily indicate a specific plan for future conflicts. Countries may choose to build up military capabilities for a range of strategic, geopolitical, or national security reasons. Some common motivations for stockpiling arms may include National defence or Alliance commitments: The aim is to show strength as a deterrent to anyone wishing to ambush and attack.

Ground-based air defense is a vital issue in modern military operations, highlighted by the Ukrainian conflict. In Germany, the new NNbS program aims to close the capability gap in short and very short-range air defence, providing crucial protection against various aerial threats, including UAVs and missiles. HENSOLDT, in collaboration with Diehl Defence and Rheinmetall, contributes advanced technologies such as our TRML-4D and Spexer 2000 MkIII radars. We have asked our expert Jan Wielpuetz, Head of Sales (V)SHORAD, to share more insights with us on the topic ground-based air defence radars. #AirDefence #radar #ILA #NNbS
