Olympics vs. Paralympics: A Budgetary Reflection It's fascinating how outcomes often defy expectations: 🔔 Olympics: ₹500 crore budget Medals: 0 Gold, 1 Silver, 5 Bronze🥇🥈🥉 🔔 Paralympics: ₹20 crore budget Medals: 3 Gold, 5 Silver, 7 Bronze 🥇🥈🥉 When you compare the budgets and the results, it raises a compelling question: 🙋 Are we investing our resources where they truly make the most impact? Despite having only a fraction of the budget, our Paralympians brought home a much richer haul of medals. 1️⃣ What does this say about grit, determination, and the power of belief? ⏩ I'd love to hear your thoughts on this 2️⃣ Should we rethink our priorities and how we allocate resources in sports? 3️⃣ What lessons can we learn from these athletes who achieved so much with so little? #Olympics #Paralympics #Sports #BudgetVsOutcome #Inspiration Follow Deepak Yadav
Makes sense! I strongly feel the Paralympic athletes should receive more support and appreciation. Accepting the reality, overcoming the hardships they are facing in their life and excelling at things is really commendable.
Don't compare them why these posts are going on there is a difference in number of athletes trained in both categories.
Don’t use same yard stick for everyone…
if we can allocate 80% of the 500 crores at grassroot levels, we will have lot more medals in coming olympics!
& undoubtedly, the para-athletes are stronger, tougher & hungrier!
Reality😐
Strong opinion!

2moGreat point! The disparity in investment and returns between Olympics and Paralympics is indeed thought-provoking. However, I'd like to add another layer to this discussion. While the allocation of funds is crucial, it's equally important to examine how effectively these funds are being utilized. Were the allocated budgets for Olympics fully utilized directly for athlete development, training, and support?
