At the recent forum on beauty, personal care and green packaging, we had the opportunity to delve into some of the core issues facing our industry. These issues are not only related to how our products are created and selected but also pertain to the entire industry's business model and sustainable development. We discussed product selection strategies, which involve the integration of product efficacy, market demand, and synthetic biology technology. At the same time, the discussion on business models focused on the profit distribution between brands and raw material companies. In addition, we had an in-depth discussion on how companies can achieve sustainable development, including dealing with industry infighting, the approval process for new ingredients, and regulatory challenges. Finally, we analyzed the market prospects of raw materials and explored the scientific principles and market potential behind these ingredients. These discussions provided us with valuable perspectives, helping us to better understand the current state and future of the industry. And after interviewing companies from the US, the UK, Europe, and Asia—all of which will be exhibiting in the Ingredients Zone of #Cosmopack at the 2024 edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna—I believe that it’s also fair to say that the cosmetic ingredients of tomorrow start by extracting information from plants. In some cases, that information is a literal extract that is then bended or processed by distillation or fermentation. In other cases, it’s literally information that is then translated into advanced manufacturing techniques or synthetic organic chemistry to produce beauty ingredients...
