Fisker is a brand lacking demand again... Currently, Fisker does not have enough market demand to sell direct. How do you create demand? A dealer network allows Fisker to gain two things: funding and access to an established clientele. An investor (dealer) not wanting to lose money will connect a cross-brand buyer to Fisker and allows capitalism to drive sales. Dealers always find buyers when the OEM can't.
Everyone else is trying to bypass dealerships, SO... Why is Fisker coming to NADA looking for franchise dealers? They've completely abandoned the direct-to-consumer model. And Henrik Fisker said they plan to sign 50 dealers this year.
