The 13th of May at 2.00 pm Irish time, with Andrea Splendori during #ICW (International Coaching Week) we hold a #workshop on how to evaluate whether to move from 1:1 Coaching to group and team coaching. This workshop can help the coach to leverage and develop their knowledge, skills and their awareness and beliefs and potential distortions. The coach can understand what could be the next step, how to complete or integrate the skills to become a #teamcoach. The workshop is focusing on how the coach with 1 to 1 experience can start to explore group and team coaching sessions. We are going to focus on Building rapport and how to understand where we can start from. We want to focus on ICF core competencies, with particular attention to the first two and how team coaching sub-Competencies need to be embodied in the day to day team coaching practice: C1: Demonstrates Ethical Practice: coaches the client team as a single entity, demonstrates the knowledge and skill needed to practise and maintains trust, transparency, and clarity when fulfilling multiple roles related to team coaching. What’s your favorite definition of coaching? 💬 The world is full of definitions of coaching (the modern professional coaching that we talk about) that usually share the same ingredients. When you start to look around, you might find some quite fascinating and genius ones 💡 The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential”. They add that the process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership. At WCO we define coaching as “a process that aims at developing, supporting, challenging and empowering people in order to reach their full potential, both personally and professionally, through questions and other techniques”. Now there’s a technical definition for you (as we like it for coaching education purposes)! 🤓 But when we ask people how they would define coaching based on their current understanding, we get the most inspiring and creative answers! These stem from “being curious about another person’s thinking” (referring especially to informal coaching), “asking questions to help someone tap into their potential”, or “helping someone to move from where they are to where they want to be”.
