Seen some posts on here recently of people showing off how they hired someone “over 55” or “with no experience”. … Why is this something we’re proud of? If a role is entry level - 0-1 years of experience should be standard. If that person (regardless of age) was the most qualified person for the job they should get that role. We shouldn’t be proud of not being biased during the hiring process- this should be the standard. It shouldn’t be shocking or groundbreaking to hire someone who fits the qualifications for the job- anything outside of that shouldn’t be taken into consideration when making a hiring decision. #hiring #jobsearch #JobHuntLikeARecruiter

Today's riddle, the 🦄 Hunt: Why Company X Can't Fill Its "Entry-Level" IT Role. Company X is posting an entry-level Junior IT role for the third time in 9 months. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of in-field experience. Company X's recruiters are exhausted from searching for a "purple unicorn." The majority of candidates with adequate expertise require more competitive salaries than the budget allows. Candidates who accept the role see 0 incentives to grow within the organization and often leave within the first 2 to 3 months, leading to depleting employee retention rates. What is Company X missing here?
