Are you ready for the next few months? This week the majority of bonuses are being paid in the industry and it is going to create a domino effect of opportunities in the market. This is due to the annual theme of individuals waiting for their bonuses to be paid before resigning to start the next chapter in their career! This naturally makes openings to fill the position that they are leaving whether that's through internal promotions, bringing someone in from another team, or looking externally for new talent. The other event that creates a lot of movement this time of year is the exam season, which student actuaries will wait until they're finished so that they can commit to an interview process 📚 These two events mean that the next few months are going to be so busy before the lull in summer when a huge percentage of the market go on holiday ☀ So what does this mean for you? Even if you aren't open to something new, there could be a lot of unanticipated change coming for you, your team or your wider company, which can change your situation pretty quickly so if you'd like to learn about what roles are out there or what's happening in the market, let's chat! Our market is so relationship lead and I find it so beneficial getting to know people so that when the job hunt starts, we have a strong working relationship full of trust that can make the process so much smoother.

What I wish I'd known as a New Grad.... Joining the workforce as a New Grad can be both an exciting and intimidating time. We spend many years at university learning how to be excellent at our profession, but often we aren't given much advice about finding a job or joining the industry! Ashleigh, Longevity's Senior Leader, reflects on the advice she wishes she was given when she first graduated. 1. Get your accreditation, insurance, documents up to date and sorted as early as possible - these often have long waiting periods or take up significant time to organise. 2. Apply for Jobs early. Get into the workforce as soon as you can and give yourself the best chance at opportunity and experience. 3. Compare the different opportunities. Get advice from people who are already working, what do they like about their job? 4. Ask the RIGHT questions. Does this Salary offer include super or will I receive super on top of this amount? 5. Be prepared. Look up the company you are applying for, what are they about? How can you add value to them? How will you show this in an interview? What is something you have learnt? We would love to hear your thoughts... COMMENT below!!

Building an anti-procrastination retreat in the hills of Kerala 🌴 | Partner @ Mad Hauz Media | Failed Entrepreneur | Semi Retired Marketeer | Aspiring Farmer
Some examples of good NOs to say 👇🏾 No, I can’t jump on a quick call right now. No, I won’t be able to work this weekend. No, we can’t turn this around in a day. No, we can’t make one of the interns do it. No, we can’t make it work in this budget. No, I don’t think I can work for this salary. No, I don’t want a promotion without a pay raise. No, I can’t make it to the mandatory after work party. No, ffs, I can’t make it go viral. (ffs to be said inside mind but loudly)

Your priorities will shift throughout career stages. As you consider new roles in 2024, reassess what’s most important to you. It could be: - Salary & titles - Specific niche exposure - Flexible hours & extra leave For candidates applying for roles with us, here’s what should resonate most: - Challenging work - Remarkable teammates - DEEP paid media training - Trusting environment Your list might be different. And that’s OK. Just be sure to reflect on what you’re looking for before you start applying.
