Great piece by Sue Reisinger at Law360. I too wonder if this is a trend or just a few high profile GCs making the move in a short window. It'll be interesting to track over time the GCs who have moved back to firms. A wide chasm has developed in terms of how well lawyers at firms know what really goes on at their clients. As a GC and C Suite client myself for many years, I know that in house execs bring much needed empathy and business know-how to law firms. Standout law firms bring incredible expertise, intellectual rigor and horsepower, and relentless client service. It's exciting, and necessary, to have the cross-fertilization. That said, it can be quite an adjustment to those in-house who haven't tracked their lives in 6-minute increments in a long time.
