Later this month, DWT partners Nancy Libin, David Rice, and Adam Greene will be speaking at the “Privacy + Security Academy's Fall Forum” taking place at The George Washington University - University Student Center. On Thursday, October 24, Nancy’s and David’s panel, “Privacy Challenges Associated with Generative AI,” will examine the privacy issues related to the development and deployment of generative AI (including transparency, secondary use of data, data storage, security, sharing, and bias in data outputs) and consider applicable legal obligations and best practices. Adam will lead the “Health Privacy + Security Law Workshop” on Wednesday, October 23, which will explore key topics such as amendments to HIPAA, the Washington My Health My Data Act, FTC developments regarding health and wellness apps, health information privacy in the wake of Dobbs, and more. We are excited to announce that for the fifth year in a row, we have achieved "Mansfield Certification Plus," highlighting the firm's ongoing dedication to promoting lawyers from underrepresented backgrounds into leadership roles.   "Five years is an amazing achievement but no surprise—we've long been committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture, and it remains a key component of our strategy," said Jaime Drozd, recently named DWT’s managing partner. She is the first woman to take the helm in the firm's 80-year history.   Certification is a year-long evaluation (in partnership with Diversity Lab) of a law firm’s adherence to the Mansfield Rule, in which the firm pledges to affirmatively consider at least 30% women, underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership roles.
