Water-Saving Wednesday - Implement personal water conservation techniques. There is NO new water. Think about all that is flushed, dumped, or washed down the drain and all that is discharged into our waterways by corporations. We are recycling and cleaning the water that has been used by our great-grandparents, parents and neighbors upstream. Today, can you go a full 24 hours without using water in any form? If you cannot avoid using it, use KUUMBA to figure out how many times/ways you can reuse the water you used? #WaterConservation #SaveResources #23DayEcoChallenge

Nature-based solutions, like treatment wetlands, are a key part of our vision for the future. With a growing population, our sewer networks are having to process increasing amounts of human and domestic waste, so we’re always looking for more natural alternatives. As seen in this BBC article, the power of wetlands is not to be underestimated. In addition to helping naturally remove unwanted chemicals, they also have a positive impact on our region’s river health and biodiversity. Our work with NORFOLK RIVERS TRUST on the #Stiffkey and #Ingoldisthorpe wetlands has demonstrated the true benefit partnership working can have on environmental quality. These wetlands are only the start. If approved by Ofwat later this week, our proposed business plan for 2025-2030, proposes a record investment of £4 billion to enhance the environment. This includes an ambitious goal of building nature-based solutions the equivalent of football pitches. You can read our business plan here https://lnkd.in/eGEwYz4y Read the full #BBC article here: https://lnkd.in/ghwbJZUm #Wetlands #NatureBasedSolutions #RiverWaterQuality

Narsingh Ispat limited constructed rainwater harvesting system in the plant premises for collection and storage of rain water that runs off from roof tops, parks, roads, open grounds, etc. we are not only conserving water but also contributing to groundwater recharge. This approach not only helps in managing water resources efficiently but also reduces the strain on municipal water supply systems, particularly during dry seasons or droughts. It's a sustainable practice to mitigate water scarcity issues and promote environmental stewardship. Happy #WorldEnvironmentDay!🌍 This year's theme is "land restoration, desertification and drought resilience" and emphasises the fact that we cannot go back in time, however we can change the future by restoring the world's #ecosystem #GenerationRestoration.🌱 Our Metal Recycling Facility is located in #Cumbria which is home to the #LakeDistrict National Park meaning we are even more aware of how both water usage and discharges can have a powerful effect on the #environment. Did you know that, despite being the wettest part of England, #Cumbria faces water challenges so significant that none of the #LakeDistrict's bodies of water are deemed to be in "good health" #ecologically or #chemically. In fact, only 3% of the world's water resources are deemed as fresh water! It is therefore crucial that we do our part to minimise #CyclifeUK's water use and do not discharge any of the #polluted water which is generated at our site. To minimise our water usage we monitor activity across our whole site and use a dry process during our treatment phase which means that no water is required. #CyclifeUK also operates under the #EnvironmentalPermittingRegulations and all of our discharges are monitored by the @Environmental Agency. We hold a Radioactive Substance Activities permit which demonstrates our ability to appropriately control and monitor our #wastewater and environmental discharges to confirm we are not #polluting local water sources.🌊 What measures are you or your company taking within the workplace to become water resilient? Let us know in the comments below!

We all shall have to face it today or tomorrow. Governments in charge must come up with solution for water conservation at macro and micro level, where responsibilities be fixed not only on common people but also on the authorities who have been involved in plannings. Water conservation, rainwater harvesting, ground water recharge, development of deep miyawaki forest, waste management, waste water reuse etc. at micro household level and societal level must be made mandatory by the governments. #watercrisis #waterconservation #planttrees #sharedresponsibility Root Logix Root Logix Legal https://lnkd.in/gDdpDwg8

Today is World Water Day and FMC is taking a moment to recognize the need for collective action to solve the complex challenges facing the water resources we all rely on. As a proud member of the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS), we are part of a global movement to address shared water challenges through water stewardship. Water is essential to all living things – but less than 3% of the Earth’s water is fresh and suitable for drinking, agriculture or manufacturing goods. Due to climate change, rapid population growth and urbanization, the world’s freshwater resources are increasingly stressed. FMC takes the responsibility to protect this precious natural resource seriously. We are committed to implementing sustainable water practices at all FMC sites, taking a local approach to water stewardship and implementing projects to increase water efficiency and manage water resources in a way that supports local communities and watersheds. #WorldWaterDay #WaterStewardship #WaterForPeace

🌍💧 Did you know that portable restrooms are making a significant contribution to protecting our environment? On a daily basis, the portable restroom industry saves approximately 125 million gallons of fresh, drinkable water, and on an annual basis, it eliminates the cost and energy to run 45 billion gallons of water through expensive waste treatment plants. In an era when fresh water is becoming increasingly scarce, this is a significant achievement in water conservation. Let's celebrate World Environment Day by recognizing the important role the portable sanitation industry plays in preserving our natural resources and reducing our environmental impact. 🌿💚 #WorldEnvironmentDay #GreenIndustry #WaterConservation

Interesting insights on the insurance market for the waste management industry from my colleagues.
Few other industries keep all industries going and provide critical stewardship of our environment than the #waste industry. Waste and environmental services also happen to be core components of what we do at WTW Natural Resources. It’s Water Saving Week (13th - 17th May 2024). 💦 Water is an expensive commodity especially in large washrooms. We can all collectively make a BIG impact on water conservation through some simple steps like Turning The Tap Off 🚰 #watersavingweek #waterwise #thinkhygiene

Today is the International Day of Action for Rivers, providing an opportunity to ponder the importance of preserving water resources and ensuring access to #clean #water for all communities. In agro-industrial settings, too, respecting and conserving these resources is crucial. Chemical analysis of #waste #water thus becomes critical to monitor water quality and #protect the environment. DNAPhone S.r.l. supports all organizations that advocate for these rights and work to protect rivers, the environment, and the sustainability of resources. #InternationalDayofActionforRivers #WaterSustainability #HealthyEnvironment #ChemicalAnalysis #WaterResources #SustainableCommunities #worksmarternotharder
