HCPs may be spending an hour or more online but where they visit and what they are doing is much harder to understand. There are literally millions of places they could be. There are thousands of topics and medicines they might be looking at. And, there might be hundreds of brands paying for the tiniest bit of attention accross all that content - one brand might serve one add in that hour. Outside the doctors office there’s a couple of other reps waiting at some point that week. Yes we need a mix but online is a fiercely more competitive space to play.

Great insight. Will digital engagement create more leads than a salesforce, I'd say yes. Would digital engagement generate more sales than a salesforce... not so sure. While finding information online results in engagement, I still think HCPs (Just like B2B Richard dos Santos,)require an opportunity receive consultancy and support from product experts. So I think conversions are probably not so good online... But an important question to raise!

Its all about the type of content that each user is looking for, and for that offering a personalized experience is key to grabbing that pice of the pie.

It would be interesting to see how much of that online activity is immediate problem solving as oppose to general browsing for awareness purposes.

The high rate of HCPs seeking information online is certainly compelling! "We're on a mission to explore and explain how digital engagement is becoming the heart of physician interaction." Can't wait to know more!

Parallels between B2B buyer journey abound! I wonder how this stat would compare to the prescriber journey: Digital Influence: On the digital front, 67% of the buyer's journey is now completed online before a prospect engages with a sales representative (SiriusDecisions).
