Still debating whether it’s a realization of a Sunday scary, but I’m officially registered to begin my first semester at University of West Georgia this Fall as an Ed.S. candidate in the #instructionaltechnology program! #education was not on my career bingo card, but as I reflect on my journey, I can’t help but think how useful it is to also have educational experiences in #politics and #business to blend with this latest adventure. #gowest #learning #training #edtech

My daughter, Kennedy, has just been inducted into the National Beta Club! Being a part of the Beta Club is a great honor, and I could not be more proud! 🎉 To be a member of the National Beta Club, students must meet specific requirements: 1. To demonstrate academic excellence, they must maintain a high GPA, usually a minimum of 3.5 or higher. 2. They need to show good character traits like responsibility, honesty, and integrity and get a letter of recommendation from an adult (not a parent) to attest to their excellent character. 3. Involvement in leadership roles within the school or community, including serving as a class officer, participating in student government, or leading community service projects. 4. Many Beta Clubs require a commitment to community service, and members are often expected to accumulate a certain number of service hours to contribute to their school and community. The National Beta Club is an honor society that recognizes and celebrates academic achievement, character, leadership, and service. It brings together students who excel not only in the classroom but also in their commitment to positively impacting their community. I am so proud of my daughter! 😀 #proudparent #teenagers #daughters

Well done to KUCCPS! Congratulations to all the applicants who made it! To the applicants who did not make it, it is normal to feel sad because you cannot belittle the implications of missing placement. However, missing placement is not the end of the world. Do not harm yourself, treasure your life. You have a life ahead of you beyond the darkness you may experience during temporary setbacks. Treat the outcome as a temporary setback, reflect, learn lessons to guide your next steps soberly. Some questions to help you in reflecting. 1️⃣ What went wrong? 2️⃣ What was my role in the outcome? This question will highlight issues that your next steps should focus on addressing. 3️⃣ How can I address the deficits that caused me to miss placement? 4️⃣ In which areas do I need help to address the gaps or overcome my weaknesses? 5️⃣ Who can help me and how? Once you have reflected objectively, take initiative to address the gaps. Try again in the pathway you initially wanted to follow or seek the next best alternative pathway to achieving your dream. Parents and statutory duty bearers: step up support to both the applicants who made it and those who did not. Both categories are at a crossroad. #KUCCPS #Universityadmission #undergrduatestudents

First day of spring semester for students AND first day of me teaching our Career Center course, SLS 1301. I was probably more nervous than the students were. Of course I had to throw in an icebreaker at the end…That’s the elementary teacher in me coming out! It was a great first day and I can’t wait for the rest of the semester! Cheers to 2024 ❤️ #CareerCoach #FAU #FloridaAtlantic #GoOwls #CareerLifePlanning #HigherEducation #CareerCenter

At Pearson we are committed to supporting schools across the UK and Internationally in projects which explore #curriculum #innovation, especially where centres recognise that the needs of learners are not being met through current learning opportunities. One such project involved Samuel Whitbread Academy, and the launch of a Higher Project Qualification (#HPQ) focused on the study of #BlackHistory. Year 9 students were given a rich, purposeful and personal opportunity to study historical events, people and stories centred around #blackhistory, and were tasked with identifying a connection between themselves and the history of black people, in a wide range of topics from #sport to #STEM. The programme, which continues beyond the pilot year, ensured the purposeful study of #blackhistory was part of the a #curriculum serving the schools students, where their school #values prioritise #equality and #diversity. #Schools interested in exploring HPQs, providing learners opportunity to study #blackhistory beyond the #curriculum, or simply interested to read the case study, can follow the link below: https://lnkd.in/euF4w45V Interestingly, the school received an #Ofsted inspection during the pilot, and a #deepdive took place into the #History department, who included the #HPQ in their report and judgement of the school.
